| I don't want their hair or smell in my house, sorry. They can sleep on doggie beds in the porch. |
|
Why get dogs then?
|
|
That's fine, as long as they aren't barking all night and annoying your neighbors,
They have fur coats in winter and shed in summer. They're supposed to live outside. |
| I'll give you a hard time, too. You suck. |
|
I grew up with our dogs outside. They had an insulated dog house that my father built and lots of bedding. They came in when the weather was bad or very cold. They hated being inside the times we brought them in and would sit by the door waiting ot go back out. These were large dogs (not owned at the same time).
My husband and I are looking to get a dog and this is a sore subject between us as i want the dog to be mostly outside and he wants in to be indoors. I wish I had something more concrete to offer, but you are not the only one and I don't think it is cruel if they have room to run around and a place to sleep. |
| So you're at work all day and the dogs are outside all night? What's the point of having them? Seriously. |
| Poor dogs. Dogs are animals and need to be near their pack. You are their pack. |
|
I think you are right OP.
Unless they are the little prissy dogs, dog belong outside. They are happier in their natural element with all those wonderful sights, sounds and smells. Good for you OP |
| Do they stay out on cold nights like the ones we had this winter? Do they have shelter and bedding on cold nights? Are they tied up at night or somehow confined to the porch? |
Agree. Dogs need an insulated shelter at the very least. |
| WHY tell your coworkers? |
|
You are a crappy pet owner.
Why do you have dogs? |
| Come on, you guys. The OP is just trying to start something. I bet he/she doesn't even own a dog. |
| Don't feed the troll. |
Agree'd. |
