Why does everyone like Elsa over Anna? Yes, Elsa has superpowers and charisma and is a queen, but all she did was shut out her little sister, put her kingdom in danger and run away. I sympathize but she's not a hero. On the other hand Anna never lost her faith and love towards her sister even when she was treated like s**t, and was brave enough to fight the snow and wolves to save her kingdom and help her sister, and at the end was willing to give away her life to save her sister and taught her the power of love. |
Disney World Problems |
Anna's memory of the accident was taken away by the troll people. So her last memory of Elsa was one of love. Elsa didn't mean to harm her but she has no recollection of the incident. Elsa acted out of love to save Anna as she was falling. Her parents felt it was best to have her stay away from Anna to keep them both safe. It was a learned coping behavior for Elsa to run. She never learned how to properly control her powers with love. Her parents did not show her the love she needed. It's easy to relate to Elsa if you were raised to conceal a certain aspect of your personality or life.
As an adult, Elsa is coping with her own fears regarding her powers. She's unsure of her own strengths. She's apprehensive and thus runs away to protect everyone. She didn't need a man to help her realize that she did not need to hide. It's once more, easy to relate if you were raised to be unsure of your own self. |
Who is this "everyone"? |
+1 What are you talking about? |
It's not going to be a popular answer, but I think my DD (age 4) and her friends like Elsa because of that sexy/beautiful "Let It Go" transformation. Even though they wouldn't be able to put it into words, when she lets down her hair and gets the sparkly dress (with the very high slit), that is when she takes the lead for them... and aside from the otherwise ok message of the movie, it does bug me that Disney had to do that transformation as such a sexy one. |
Elsa has a better rack. And Anna just look goofy. |
Yeah. Did you see her hips when she walked? That was almost twerking! |
This. That moment and that song are very effective showstoppers. |
People, you are overthinking it. Elsa has magical powers. Who doesn't want magical powers? |
Totally. I cringe (and laugh on the inside) every time my 5-year-old pulls her shirt over one shoulder and sashays around singing, "Let It Go." |

I agree with the poster regarding Elsa'a transformation and the Let It Go song. My daughters have commented many times about how beautiful Elsa looks - at the end of that song. |
Elsa is prettier. |
And the agenda of sexualizing young girls marches on... |
