Elsa has powers and she is blonde! It's as simple as that when the kids are little. Adults generally prefer Anna, but I can see why Elsa appeals to little ones

Ball busters like Elsa because she ended alone and powerful. Anna found her happily ever after/man so folks find her weaker.

My three year old prefers Olaf over the other two toys. No clue where she'll end up working. LOL

My girls like Elsa because of her magic powers and because she is "the most beautiful" (words of my almost 3yr old).

my take away from this movie was that true love was between the sisters no matter what had happened, and so they both came out looking pretty good.
