Ahh didn't see that part. But it's becoming more and more obvious that NWSL is becoming exactly like MLS when it comes to player pipelines. |
This is professional soccer. Division two professional. This is not an academy league. Wishful thinking. |
This is the groundwork needed to eventually have Acadamies. |
So basically.....meaningless. Got it. |
It’s as meaningless as any ranking. Sorry that I did not place your club higher. |
I thought he did a great job with his rankings. Now let’s see the mid Atlantic ecnl ranked by club! |
The NWSL allows teams to have up to four under-18 players between their private entry list and roster. There's close to 20 players 15-18 yo in the league right now. This Division II league will serve as a bridge for young GA/ECNL players to the NWSL in addition to former college players. With the recent surge in young players entering the league and having great success you will likely see more of the elite teenage talent forgo college. |
You're a real winner, you know that? Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Someone astutely pointed it out earlier, that "club rankings" are meaningless. Specific age group(s) that your kid(s) is (are) in is what really matters. |
I think you are referring to this line in the NWSL statement: "The Division II league is described as a transitional space between the college game and the professional game, one where young players can experience the "technical, tactical, and mental demands" of top flight soccer." This does not mean that you need to go to college before this league and given the trends in the NWSL its a safe bet the majority of these rosters will be made up of 14-19 year olds. |
The NWSL has a long way to go. The very top players at big money football schools might make more money with NIL/Profit Share then playing in the NWSL |
just another example of the gap in talent from the two leagues. 2010 Nationals finished their regular season today now #30 placed in Champions League in the ECNL. Last year they ROLLED through the regular season and playoffs to win a GA National Championship. The argument could be made that 29 ECLN teams could have won a GA National Championship last year (or any year). If you're in the younger age groups be prepared that every year it gets more and more clear that all the best players and clubs are in the ECNL. Don't buy into your coach or club director's crap that they are neck and neck and the ga is gaining on them. Simply not true. |
But nwsl acaduhmies! |
Huh? The 2010s last year in GA, at u13, went 1-2 at the playoffs https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/19035/schedules?group=190772 and lost in quarter finals at the Champions Cup https://system.gotsport.com/org_event/events/19033/schedules?group=163911 |
lol. Cool logic, bro. |
Do they have the same roster and coach? Did they lose (give up) any of their top players to the Hawks upon entering ECNL? |
