This theory is one of the two that make sense to me. She’s deliberately not cooperating with whatever messaging KP is trying to make, as it’s her only leverage. And she knows she needs leverage or she’ll get screwed on accessing and influencing her kids - the only reason Diana is seen with sympathy is because she died dramatically and tragically.

I also understand why William would want a divorce, but I also don’t understand how he could be stupid enough to think it would be at all good for his image and popularity. But I might be underestimating his stupidity and ego…

The other theory that makes the most sense to me is that there isn’t anything more nefarious than usual (he’s a jerk, she’s a vain PITA), but they are so clueless, self-centered, and egotistical that they actually believe the whole “anointed by god” thing and can’t fathom how this looks bad for them.

He looks at Charles and says: "He got everything he wanted and he's still King. Will no one rid me of this troublesome wife?"

Charles was clearly able to withstand the poor image and low popularity during the Diana years and the brutal decade long effort to "normalize" Camilla with the public and BRF. And look - he still got to be the King. William never had an upstanding example of a man, so we really shouldn't be surprised if he just continues the dysfunction much to the horror of the public.

Even if this is just vanity, and I guess I could understand that she doesn’t want to look rough, why not

1. Issue an old pic. Surely KP and Kate have laptop drives full of old pics that were never used.
2. Take an actual recent picture and do some light photoshop to make her skin pink and reduce puffiness.
3. Take a pic from a distance of the backs of Kate and the kids in a field at sunset
4. Issue a statement not a pic

The crowd that keeps moaning “poor Kate lying on her expensive sheets didn’t want to look rough so she did some photoshopping” just doesn’t understand how bad these massive edits and the associated deception around William taking them make either her or KP look. You princess fantasists are NOT helping her out.

DP. This is why I think she is really sick. William and KP are trying but they aren't sure what the best thing to do, the best way to go forward, is. And they don't know if/when she is going to get better, although they're hoping.
