Easter: Sugar overload....

Anonymous
Has anyone else experienced sugar overload this Easter? Between the candy I have been snacking on this past week, pizza and birthday cake I had last night, and a brunch today with french toast and MORE cake, I feel like it is just too much! Any tips for getting back on track? I feel like once I start with the sugar, it is so hard to stop! I have also been trying to lose the "last five pounds" and I am frustrated because this weekend has seriously derailed my efforts!

Is this a troll post? A better question would be to ask if anyone out there is not suffering from sugar overload.

Eat protein or veggies FIRST, each time you go to eat anything.

The problem with cabbage soup is the bloating and gas otherwise it's a great solution.

I think OP is probably just looking for people to commiserate with her. And yes, the Easter basket candy most definitely got the best of me! I anticipate to see a gain of 3-4 lbs on the scale tomorrow. SIGH.

Try it for a week. I've gone through 5lbs of sugar, 7.5 dozen eggs, and 5 bags of choc chips. Happy Passover.

What's in it?

1 Onion
1 cup Carrots
1 cup Celery
2-3 Garlic cloves
1 Green bell pepper
1 can diced tomatoes
4 cups chicken broth
1 small head of cabbage

I don't bloat with this, and I feel so much lighter. I eat it for dinner with a sensible breakfast and lunch. By Friday, I should be about 5 pounds lighter. I also call this my vacation detox.

Thanks. Does this last you a week (M-F)?

Who was I kidding with those Pillsbury cinnamon rolls this morning? I may need to take some of the leftover candy into the office to stave off utter ruin.

This week must be about legumes.

It does. I only eat it for dinner. It is light, but surprisingly filling.

Well, I tried a variation of this (I didn't have any cans, so I used a big hunk of steak and whole tomatoes and added water) and I lost 5 pounds. I also had dinner at a friend's house one night, pizza one night and ate some of my kids' frozenyo. This is magic soup. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
