i intermittently work overnight shifts (from 11pm-7am) and on those days, I will take a nap (2-3 hours) in the mid afternoon.
Would it be crazy to work out in the evenings before going in? At 8 or 9? I'm wondering it would energize me and pep me up, or, if on not-quite-enough sleep, the exercise would make me more tired? I'm a physician, so have to be on the ball all night |
| Wow! Thanks for the detailed answer. So, on days when I have an overnight, I try to nap from 2-4/5. Then I go in at 11 and work til 7, come home by 8:30 (depending on what time I leave) and sleep til 2... I never get sleep at work. Again, thanks for the advice! |
| A lot of people I know (myself included) prefer a morning workout before a full day of work and other activities. It revs me up and feels like I've achieved something. I'd probably work out an hour or two before work, then eat something, then go to work. |
