Hilaria Baldwin - At it again

Anonymous
The strangest thing about this whole affair is that, claiming to have grown up in Mallorca (where another official language, Mallorcan, is spoken in addition to Spanish), she has never made any reference to this.

Seen from the perspective of someone who knows Spanish culture closely and all its richness, it is very clear that she knows and lives by topics. And the topics about Spain refer to the south (gazpacho, flamenco, bulls ... they are typical of the south of Spain, not of the whole country). But it is what tourists know and want from Spain, and it is what she showed all the time. Even being strange because the culture of Mallorca goes far beyond that and has much more.

In summary: She was selling a concept of Spanish culture more typical of the south than the area in which she supposedly grew up. So either it is not as integrated as it pretends, or it knows what it is that Spain sells abroad and it limits itself to promoting that. Both options are equally disrespectful and show little desire to integrate.

Ps: Her english its fantastic!but you can see she is better faking (or imitating) an accent than speaking fluently and using complex sentences. In addition, it has expressions more typical of Latin American Spanish (tengo tres meses de embarazo, it is not something that is said here in Spain or by mistake anyway), and in general it has errors that someone bilingual would not have.

Totally. What a pack of lies. She’s on the record in April saying she moved from Spain at 19 to attend NYU. Why didn’t that come up in the interview? She just continues to look like a liar and the Times continues to be a sack of garbage.

From The NY Times article: "She doesn’t understand why anyone would think she has portrayed herself as anything other than who she is: someone steeped in two cultures. Evidently, she said, “people don’t have the attention span for that kind of thing.” "

So, it's our fault for finding out she lied about her entire life. She isn't just 'steeped in two cultures', she has portrayed herself as being someone with a birthright she does not have, with skin color that really isn't hers and an accent she fakes to sound like someone she is not.

Apparently, we all have goldfish brains and we just don’t understand her! Pobrecita!

She doesn’t understand why anyone would think she has portrayed herself as anything other than who she is: someone steeped in two cultures. Evidently, she said, “people don’t have the attention span for that kind of thing.”

Page Six has a decent overview of the NYT article:

Unsurprisingly her answers don’t make sense.

What?

And she claimed she was raised by a father with such “deep, deep, deep bonds” with the European nation that, “When we weren’t in Spain, we called it ‘we brought Spain into our home.’”

She comes off so badly in all these responses. Some acknowledgement of why people are reacting and some humility would go a long way. Instead she blames everyone in ways that make no sense. Asking for boundaries... From a woman who pays a zillion instagrams in her underwear??? Anyways, my favorite is her blaming CAA for messing up her birthplace. There is zero chance that happened and even if it did a normal person would correct immediately. After all the blame to journalists and those in the industry.... Honey you'll never work in this town again.

Same to the bolded. I could not believe that she blamed them and called them sloppy! I also love this quote:

"She doesn’t understand why anyone would think she has portrayed herself as anything other than who she is: someone steeped in two cultures. Evidently, she said, “people don’t have the attention span for that kind of thing.

Blaming everyone else. Not admitting to misrepresenting herself, even accidentally. Showing zero humility or grace.

Page Six needs to change their name to "We ain't gonna whitewash it".

Can you link to this?

This is simply ...horrific.

Who takes a selfie before their D&C? (I’ve had 3 btw, yet it never occurred to me to snap a selfie.)

And, WTH Nivea? How on earth did this paid ad become a reality? Who pitched it?

Yeah that is appalling. I don’t even have words for how gross she is!

I’m shocked she is still allowing comments on her Insta. Celebs usually turn off that feature in these situations.

Because then she might miss one validating and fawning comment.

Her dad has a degree in Spanish lit. That doesn’t make her Spanish though and her dad openly admitted he wasn’t Spanish.

I think that NYT interview/article is incredible. Reading between the lines, you can tell the reporter doesn’t believe anything she says. A couple of my favorite parts:

“One of the most important places to start is this idea of boundaries,” said Ms. Baldwin, who invites social media followers into her home life with Mr. Baldwin and their five fair-haired young children by routinely sharing images like her underwear-clad workout routines, innumerable pregnancy selfies and the sponsored diaper-ad videos of her infant son.

(@lenibriscoe) said that Ms. Baldwin’s American upbringing was an open secret among many people in New York and she just decided to make it less secret. “We’re all bored and it’s just seemed so strange to me that no one had ever come out and said it, especially for someone who gets so much media attention,” said the woman, who was granted anonymity by The New York Times because she said she was scared that Mr. Baldwin, who agreed to take an anger management course in 2019 in order to dispose of charges after a fight with a man over a parking spot and has been arrested, escorted from a plane and suspended from a job as an MSNBC host, all in the last decade, would punch her. (A spokeswoman for Mr. Baldwin declined to comment.)

Ms. Baldwin first visited Spain with her parents when she was a baby, she said, and she went at least yearly thereafter. She declined to explain in detail how frequently they traveled there or how long they stayed. “I think it would be maddening to do such a tight time line of everything. You know, sometimes there was school involved. Sometimes it was vacation. It was such a mix, mishmash, is that the right word? Like a mix of different things.”

She said she didn’t think that her referring in online posts to her travel to Spain as “going home” was misleading. “Home is where my parents are going to be,” she said. “If my parents move to China, I am going to go to China and say, ‘I’m going home.’” (Though she has said her family has roots in Spain, she said she was speaking colloquially. “These people who I call my family, I am learning in this particular situation, I have to say, ‘People who we have considered to be our family.’”)

I think it’s VERY telling that her parents, her brother, CAA and even Alec refused to comment for this story.

What offends me more than the whole Spanish culture thing (which is weird) is her obsessive need to post about how involved she is with her kids without as others have said acknowledging the nannies. There is a picture of her in 2015 after Alec said the five nannies thing when she and Alex are out taking a walk with at the time their only 2 kids and they have 2 nannies with them.

I personally have no problem if people hire help for any aspect of their life. But the way she pretends not to bothers me. I think Joanna Gaines does this too. NEVER acknowledges teh childcare help she must get. Or help maintaining her house. Acts like it's just her. That bothers me a lot.

Alex 100% knew. Someone on her claims family members were not allowed to talk to the Baldwins at wedding and signed forms agreeing. He didn't want anyone finding out they spoke English as ya know Americans. He met the parents.I highly suspect the dad didn't walk her down the isle (if that's true) because he was rebelling against the lie. They didn't want to abandon their likely mentally ill daughter completely, but they needed to blink twice in their own way if you get my drift. Or maybe he didn't look Spanish enough whereas the brother does.

She doesn’t want to admit that she and her family are just obsessed with Spanish culture. Hillary, that doesn’t mean you are actually Spanish. Does her father have an accent? Does her brother have an accent? They aren’t Spanish people. This is bizarre. She is a Rachel Dolezal. She is delusional.
