I'm in the market to get one, but wanted to ask of those who have one? Is it a pain to have to open both doors to access the refrigerator part? Especially when you have something in your hands already?
We have a side by side now. We are looking at a 33 inch wide refrigerator to fit our space with a water dispenser in the door and the only one I have found is a LG one which looks great. But having to open both doors to open the fridge might be a pain over the long run. Any thoughts? |

| We have one. I've never found it to be frustrating or difficult. That said, it's also not any easier than a single door refrigerator either. We bought ours because the galley-style walkway in front of the refrigerator would get blocked by a full-size door, and so the half-doors improve flow through the kitchen. If kitchen space is not an issue for you (for example in a more open-floor kitchen), I'd save your money and get a traditional refrigerator. |

| We have a GE and come open either side. Turns out I always open the right side first -- so that's where I store things we use more often. After a week, you'll never think about it again. |

| We also got ours because of the way the kitchen is set up. But I only open both doors if I'm putting something big in or if I can't remember which side of the fridge something is on. I frequently only open one door. |

We love, love, love our side by side refrigerator. The new ones are big enough that they fit a box of pizza in the fridge side.
We couldn't stand the freezer drawer on the french door fridges. It became a bottomless pit. I also didn't like opening both doors or not having water and ice on the outside of the door. |

| We love our samsung much better than the side by side ge it replaced. You can also get it with the sparking water function. |

Wow - this is very cool. OP, I have the freezer on the bottom fridge. Avoid this at all costs. It is SUCH a pain to have to empty everything out to get something on the bottom or just dig around in your freezer. |

| I have a GE cafe side by side and hate it. Not wide enough especially on the freezer side and a lot of wasted space. It's only 7 years old but I'm counting down until we an do a kitchen renovation to get a different one. |

I've heard this from others, but how is this different from having to empty it out to reach the back of the freezer (if it's on top)? I'm not trying to be snotty. We're doing a reno and trying to decide about a stle fridge. |

| I have a 33" Kenmore Elite that I love. It's not a pain to open two doors. Half of the time, I only open the door that I need to open. You will get so much more space than in a side by side or a regular fridge. I find with the fridge on top, I see what's in the fridge more easily and old stuff doesn't hang around as long as it used to. I like the freezer on the bottom but I do find I lost items in the very bottom of the drawer, but not a whole lot more than I did before. |
