Want to start one today, for one week. Where do I begin?

Don't do it. Terribly bad for you - you consume all the sugar of fruits of vegetables, and strip all the healthy fiber and other nutrients.

Well veggie juices too I should say

You clearly know nothing about vegetables if this is your follow up comments. Vegetables also contain loads of sugar, and juicing them also strips them of vital nutrients.

Juicing is a stupid fad. Just eat your fruit and vegetables.

No you are not stripping them of nutrient. Cook will break down down some of the nutrients, mostly you may lose some fiber.

About a year ago there was a thread about the Blueprint juice cleanse, but the bottles of juice are $10 a piece; that adds up to $40 a day if I remember correctly. I did a google search and found a site that has approximate recipes for the juices used in Blueprint, so I went that route and made them myself.

There are jiuce shops that sell you prepared juices for a cleanse, but it's not cheap.

If you want to do juice diet, you can crush/grind fruits/veggies in a grinder at home and drink it, along with the fiber. That is healthier, contains no sugar, no preservatives and is filling too. Fiber helps is reducing weight also.

Juicing does not destroy or remove the nutrients. It removed the fiber, allowing you to consume MORE fruits and vegetables than you could eating them whole.

I've done a 9 day juice fast and the first day was the hardest. I lost a good amount of weight (maybe 13 lb? I can't remember for sure).

My suggestions:
1. You MUST drink a laxative tea for the first 3-4 days at night. A friend of mine did not and was extremely blocked up, such that she chose to stop. The juices remove the fiber, so you need to drink the tea to get rid of the waste in your colon. After a few days, your colon should be empty and you wont need to continue the tea (bec you're not eating solids).
2. Drink lots of water.
3. On your first and days, I would do half juice and half solid fruits and vegetables, to ease yourself in and out. I would also cut meats a day or two prior to ease yourself in.
4. Drink lots of water.
5. Experiment. Find a recipe that you think looks good and tweak it if necessary.
6. If you make juices for the day in the morning, you need to keep them in an airtight container so that they don't spoil during the day.
7. Go to whole foods and get some supplements that are beneficial to add to your juices. Chlorophyl (I think) is one and there's another that I'm forgetting.
8. Your breath may stink for the first few days and your tongue will be white. That's normal and good (toxins being killed).
9. When you begin to fantasize uncontrollably about what fatty and horrible foods you're going to gobble down when you're finished, its time to stop. Seriously. No point in doing a juice fast if you're just gonna pack the lb back on as soon as you take your last sip. Better to do a shorter fast and have it stick than to do a long one with a weight loss you cant maintain.
