It's a fantastic school and we have been very happy there! My youngest DD is in K right now and the K team is incredibly fantastic.
Any specific questions you would like to be answered? |
| Great, like hours after or before school programs? Thank!!!! |

Bar-T is the after hours/before school company. We don't use it but my kids have friends who do and my kids always beg to go to Bar-T. It seems like a fun program.
There are always a nice selection of after-school activities (chess, acting, some sports, piano, guitar, science) that you can sign up for. |
| Nice!! |
| I have 2 CGES grads and we were happy with the school and cluster. It is quite large but they seem to manage the kids well. We did Bar-t and it was fine (even great for smallest kids). Wonderful International night. Accessable principal. Lots of great families. |

My youngest is in his last year at CGES; we've been there for 9 years with 3 children. It's been a great experience for us. I'm actually feeling pretty sentimental about leaving CGES for good in June.
We've really liked the teachers, and I love the current principal. We used Bar-T (still do, for mornings), and it was fine. The counselors seem to really like hanging out with the kids. Mornings have unstructured play, and afternoons have outside (or gym) play, homework time, and clubs that change monthly. My son has also done the running club, chess club, and programming club that are run (or at least coordinated) through the PTA. All in all, we've been really happy at CGES. |
| How are the prices for the after care program!!! Geez there is a lot to learn!!! |
| I am out of date..but look at the BAR-T.com website. They are not cheap (but do cover many snow days/1/2 days and vacation days). There are also some other places that run vans to off site spots which maybe cheaper..not sure. |

Bar-T should run about $500 or so/month for both morning and afternoon. That includes most snow days, half days, most teacher work days and breaks.
Less, of course, if you do only morning or only afternoon or if you do fewer than 5 days/week. As I recall, when you go to kindergarten orientation in May, there should be a Bar-T rep with info (usually, I think they set up in the front hall near the PTA table). |
| School is okay. Bar T Worst before and after care program in the area. The location in unsecure (door not locked), anyone can come and go as they please. The staff does not watch your children closely. We had a very concerning incident which could have been prevented with proper supervision with our 7 year old. Much better daycare options out there. Parents beware |

It's a great school. So far, the teachers have all been good and the principal seems very dedicated to the school and community.
My kids love bar-t aftercare. It seems to have fewer organized activities than it used to, but the school day has so much structure that my kids enjoy the free play time. |
| I thought the BAR-T entrance was locked and there is a doorbell. My kids attend an evening activity in the same space and that seems to be what the set up is..unless maybe they prop the door? |
I checked the inspection reports. The program at CGES had 3 nonconformities in the last inspection of 11/2016. Two were for failure to notify when hiring or terminating employees. The other was another employment-related item. |
| Depending on which zone you live in, your child may not be going to CGES after this fall. There is a new school RMES5 which is set to open fall 2018 where certain zones from CGES will be moved to (in addition to the Chinese Immersion program). FYI |
