How is there not a thread about that lunatic dad who screamed at the Loudon school board?

He sounds how I feel inside.

Uh I doubt the school board is hating this. I’m no fan and yet he managed to look worse. Their silence makes them look much more mature and rational.

Disagree. They looked awful. He did not look bad at all. He schooled them.

Is this how you and and him prefer your kids to be "schooled" too?

You don't need an educational system to do it. Just teacher kids to yell on top of their lungs to bring their point across.

Oh heavens, we must shield the children from any negative emotions! It’s all sunshine and rainbows and that’s what I am teaching my kids. Negative emotions, and especially any yelling, must always always be suppressed. Just fake it till you make it!

You have no idea what you are talking about. The dude had to learn to manage his anger.

Yes, I don't want be the target of some random idiot's' raging. You want him to yell at you, let him know. Just keep in mind, he might decide to hit you next so he does not have to suppress his anger.

I’ll just hit em right back where it counts, cause that’s how I roll.

The squeaky wheel does, sometimes, get the grease. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Could he maybe try to squeak more coherently? Meltdowns don’t help comprehension.[/quote

I think we all comprehended his message.

I turned off once he started yelling. I’d tune out if I were there. I did not hear any arguments from him. Yes, I know why he’s upset but I know it before he approached the mic. Hearing him scream made me lose any empathy I had for his situation. In fact, I’d be happy if he and his brood never left the house - who in their right mind would want to share space with him, be it a classroom or a road.

Please don't pretent you ever had empathy for his and our situation.

I have empathy for people who feel badly about the Covid situation.

I don’t have empathy for temper tantrums, blaming, false equivalencies, etc.

Trythfulky I see a mss as n like this who just can’t parent his kids and blames others.

We are paying taxes to educate our children. I wasn’t aware that “parenting” also includes becoming an ES teacher. I am not capable of teaching, I suck at it. I try my best, but it’s clearly not enough for my kids.

I’m sure teachers weren’t aware that “teacher” also includes babysitting your kids.

Teachers are teaching. They want to be in the classroom. Let’s make it safe for them to be there.

Push for testing & air filters. Push for safe policies. Push to ban indoor dining or multiple households gathering indoors.

It’s not the teacher’s fault that we collectively f’ed up the pandemic response.

I'm living in Florida temporarily. Somehow the teachers here have been teaching without issue. We've had no dead or hospitalized teachers.

Or do they just care about education more?

Don't expect an answer. These teachers up here have a bunch of dead space between their ears.

Your question makes them short circuit

The topic was him being a lunatic. He is. His comparison of the trash collectors' and teacher's working conditions shows that his in-person-school attendance was a waste of time. Looks like the f2f school did nothing for your education either, btw.

Honestly, it's not really teachers for the most part at this point. It's a subset of insane parents that won't let their kids out the front doors.

Well, maybe it takes being a lunatic to make a change. Do you lack any emotion ever, have you never lost your cool? It’s an arbitrary comparison, you may compare public school teachers to private school teachers, daycare employees, public school teachers in Florida or Texas, healthcare and all hospital employees, janitors, gymnastics instructors, music teachers, in person tutors, cashiers, delivery people, hair dressers, bus drivers, uber drivers.... You choose. All of them are more admirable than the teachers and school board that we are dealing with here.

The teachers have not decided one thing. Not this year. Or the year before. And certainly will not next year or any time in the future.

But if it comforts your shitty feelings and subpar parenting skills then by all means attack the people who you despise yet.... are so insanely and obnoxiously desperate to send your weaklings to. Bizarre at the very least. Insane and disturbing no matter which lens you choose to view it under.
