At the same rate, I don't think anyone from those schools would argue that Bullis doesn't have high level athletic teams. People choose to go to Bullis for the opportunity to play in college and get into schools that they might not if it weren't for athletics.

End of story. Different types of young people making choices that best suit them. I would be excited for either, and wish them luck for the paths they pursue.

But Bullis still can’t win the Founder’s Cup—presented to the IAC’s top athletic program. Prep has won it 14 out of the last 16 years, including this past year—all while maintaining an average SAT score of 1386 and an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

Good for them. However, nobody is comparing Bullis to Prep or any other school. It’s an option that may work for some, and not for others.

How is Prep and Bullis comparable? I wouldn't even consider Prep because of the religious piece as well as their long history of issues within in the school and outside school hours.

Yes—Prep’s long history of producing SCOTUS Justices, Federal Reserve Chairs, NFL team owners, MLB GMs, Pulitzer Prize, Medal of Honor and Emmy Award recipients, US Poet Laureates, inventor of chemotherapy, US congressmen, US senators, ambassadors and CEOs. You’re absolutely right—no comparison. Who has Bullis produced? Duane Haskins? Give me a break.

Some of those folks I wouldn't want my child becoming. You are slamming Bullis but look at everything that has happened at Prep. I wouldn't want my son going to a school that in the past thinks nothing of treating women poorly (to put it nicely).

If my son graduates from Prep with a 1386 SAT score and becomes any of the aforementioned, I will be pretty pleased.

One administration is hardly a "long history".

But a founding date of 1789 is a long history.

Bullis by that logic has a good 130+ years to produce a couple of SCOTUS justices.

It still wouldn’t happen—assuming Bullis will be around for that long.

I really do hope you're not a parent because it would be very depressing to contemplate an adult behaving so boorishly ignorant.

Bullis has become like the Metro United posting on the soccer thread. Everyone has something mean to say yet seems obsessed at the same time. Maybe there are some jealous parents who are mad a school has found a way to be great and allow kids to be kids. My kid is at a pressure cooker and if I could go back in time I would be looking more at how schools manage classes that kids get a great education and still have time for outside activists and friendships. I am definitely looking at this school for my other kids.

Here's another transfer to Bullis, by way of Buffalo.

Coming for Junior and Senior year and "reclassifying" for Football.

I'm sure Mom and Dad got transferred to the area LOL.

Bet Prep wished that kid considered them...LOL

I thought Bullis was going to layoff teachers because they were going broke, and now they are paying full ride to rent a QB for a year or two?

As a full pay parent this really burns me up. They do this for all sports at Bullis. Pulling them in from all over, non-stop recruiting and then full rides on the backs of hard working parents. They need to stop or they will lose all of their full pay families.

Obsessed. Need to write something disparaging like they need their morning coffee. Hilarious.

You don't write very well so this may go over your head but - NO ONE IS JEALOUS. If they were, they could go there.

Pretty sure no one considers Bullis "great."

My point exactly! NO ONE IS JEALOUS. It is open door ALL the time, ALL grades. Free if your child is a all star athlete. End of story.

Are the athletes good students also? And need based isn’t the same as “free”. Nonathletes are also considered for aid.

It’s great for me and my family. Not sure why we’re still having this conversation. All of these private schools are obviously great if they work for you and your family.

So then you are just weirdly obsessed?

Not jealous or obsessed. Comes onto website to anonymously bash repeatedly. Seems legit.

Being happy is great. Telling others that they're jealous or wish they went there is ... .just silly, frankly.

Pot/Kettle much? Seems much sillier to suggest they must not be happy.
