With GA getting traction in NOVA, will we start seeing non starters on ECNL teams going to GA? Last year, I think the only girls who left an ECNL club were not asked back. But does being a top 5 player on a GA team make more sense? And are girls willing to leave their friends?

Curious for the U14, U15, U16 ages as that seems most important for college.

Plenty of ECNL starters made the switch as well. Depends on area, age, and team.

I would also add that the non starters at ECNL are not guaranteed top 5 on a GA team, especially not on the younger age groups. Possible starters. U15 and above you may start having those conversations. 2012 and younger teams appear to be stronger on GA side in NOVA area.

Of course this will happen. There are only so many ECNL minutes available. Those who are not getting a lot of playing time (i.e. recruiting exposure) will look to see what promises they can get from GA teams. Talent ID nominations, reduced fees, assurances of playing time and position, playing up are items to be leveraged. You'll also see groups of these mid to lower tier ECNL players banding together to see what they can get as a package deal to a GA team.

I would say the Girls ECNL rosters are not as large this year as they were 2 years ago. I think this is already happening to some degree. Also, Clubs love package deals. They know that if 2-4 players come over, they will be good paying customers for the club. But on also, I don't think all GA clubs are bending over backwards to make lofty promises to switch clubs since they are attracting a lot of talent.

Maybe, Maybe not. WAGS is in a few weeks and some will go head to head to so it'll be a good way to see who is ahead in the area at the moment.

Spoiler alert - the leagues only matter at recruiting ages - there are some great GA teams in the Mid-Atlantic North (2012s/13s) where I live that all suck at recruiting ages. Interestingly, they have the dominant teams for the u-littles every year and it never leads to anything down the road.

I don't know all of the clubs in MA-N GA but it's possible that until recently they didn't have a national platform so their u-littles would leave at the recruiting age. Now that they do it may change where they stay and create a stronger GA and better recruiting in future years.
