Amazing, the types that end up leading large groups of people and managing incredible sums of money. It’s why so many of us opt out of leadership. You give your life, for what? To sit in meetings with these two and their kind, day in and out while your kids are growing up with nannies… no thanks (and for the record I’m a professional DW, zero judgment of working moms—or SAH dads).

I think you summed it up perfectly. "These two and their kind" are nauseating. Self-proclaimed "accelerators" and "People connectors" that are all hot air and navel gazing. They only promote each other with vapid LinkedIn testimonials. Who has time for that? We're trying to get real work done. Why can't someone call them out and fire them all.

This is not getting enough attention. I think this is the visceral catalyst to the ire rather than their looks.

This is how NOT to apologize, WTF. So family before wife, "wonderful" before employees, and then drivel about Coldplay. He's managed to dig a deeper grave.

The apology note is fake. No parties involved have made official statements.

https://nypost.com/2025/07/18/business/astronomer-slams-fake-andy-byron-apology-after-coldplay-kiss-cam-scandal/

“The ‘statement from Astronomer CEO Andy Byron’ that’s going around originated with a 50-follower account called ‘Peter Enis.’ As in ‘P. Enis,’” the user wrote.

That account had included “CBS News” in its username, seemingly trying to pose as a reporter for the Tiffany Network.

Thanks PP, just read after. I had no idea because never heard of the company, though honestly at this point I'd believe anything from these billionaire yahoos.

+1 Discussing with my DH now - would this have gotten the same traction if he hadn’t been a billionaire tech CEO (hated by almost everyone) and a head of HR (also hated by almost everyone)? Like what if it was a dentist and his hygienist?

No it wouldn’t have. A big part of the story is that we all know characters like this who we think suck but they act like they are the greatest. Sometimes the universe treats them extra well too.

No one has visceral feelings about dentists in the same way (pain aside). People see him(her) work and know it’s a tough job. Hygenists generally don’t make tons of money and aren’t known for having power.

DCUM would tear them apart, ruin the business, etc.

But hating it because (1) the wife is having to deal with dirty laundry so publicly (2) fallout on the kids and (3) the idiot CEO is doubly blowing up his family because he will probably lose his job and lots of $$ that would be helpful to support the dual household family going forward.

He'd have to be a world class moron not to be 100% set for life untouchably rich even without the job. He should have 30M in the bank, easy. House, cars, 529s, etc all paid in full.

They should have just subtly unentangled themselves and waved at the camera. None of this would have gone viral. It is their reaction that has gone viral.

I guess they hadn't discussed how to handle if we are on the camera at the public concert. BTW though, as soon as the cam is going around catching people they are dumb enough to stand there embracing? The level of stupidity with all this and then the guy has the balls to say his privacy was invaded.

If it was a big enough concert, yes, it would have been in the news. Think about all the news you've seen involving some kid catching a ball in the stands. I've seen hundreds in my lifetime. Stadium proposals and their fails? Some of those too. I don't even like sports or watch games.

I don't think it's the billionaire aspect.

It's definitely HR hypocrisy. Most people who work in offices have to be trained or sign off on these policies. Plus cheaters having the poor judgment to have PDA in public. If he was even just affectionately side-hugging the lady, nothing would have happened except his wife might still have had her own thoughts on it.

She’s single. He’s not. Yet she’s the one who will be punished. Interesting.

He didn't say that. He hasn't said a word.

I don’t approve of the double standard, but she knew the rules were unfair when she sat down at the card table.

I warn people that all the time. It’s not just the fate of the OW, but anyone who faces a double standard in society. It’s unfair, but you are not going to change the court of public opinion. Whatever you are doing better be worth setting your life on fire.

He has to live with himself. That's a pretty big punishment. Deep down this guy knows he's a worthless lying POS with no dignity. He decided to actively embrace his fundamental dishonesty. No paycheck is large enough to make up for something one is deeply lacking inside; honesty and integrity. Enjoy your toys, dude.
