This. The FBI is unable to determine the position of the table at the time of Amy’s disappearance and therefore can’t use it in their investigation. I doubt the FBI agent would have mentioned it in the interview had she not thought it was relevant, but they were unable to use any evidence in the cabin because the scene had been tampered with. As an armchair sleuth, the position of the table can be relevant. In my experience, a cleaning crew cleans around furniture or puts it back in a default configuration. |
Cigarettes and lighter and room key were gone. Could be that all were in her pockets, but I know I generally set the key down on a table once I've entered. The small detail of the balcony door being partially open (when her dad initially saw it closed) suggests to me that she left the room again and that the ~6AM sighting with Yellow was accurate. That doesn't mean I think Yellow did anything to her, more likely she left the ship for whatever reason then got into trouble. |
The brother said there was lots of material the series didn't include. I'd like to know what they were chatting about on the balcony. They seemed close and he must have had the best sense of both her frame of mind and her level of sobriety at that point. |
I'm also curious why they didn't give us more on what they were talking about/how drunk she was out on the balcony. I have a really hard time thinking she randomly decided to leave the ship to buy weed hidden in a suitcase if she didn't mention anything at all related to that to her brother, especially if she said her plan was to finish her cigarette and go to sleep for a bit or whatever. |
I'd like more specifics on disembarking procesdures in 1998. When I went on a few cruises in the late 80s and early 90s, we just walked off the ship and only had to show ID to get back on. RC seems to be going with the story that she left of her own accord, so this would track? |
Ok hear me out. I think they said at one point that she talked about jumping and swimming to shore or something? Maybe she jumped so that she could swim to shore and score drugs or something? Or just for fun, which seems consistent with her personality? Or she was running away from her life and homophobic family? And didn’t mom say that they would not let them get off the ship at Curacao? Perhaps this was her way of seeing the island anyway. |
Even drunk (and at that point likely not that drunk), would not have jumped from that height. But she was partying, never went to sleep, probably just walked right off the boat and who knows what happened then. |
|
I Am guessing she had a fun and dynamic personality and was very boisterous, so people were drawn to her as someone to hang out and party with. Mom mistook this for men being attracted to her. Partially because that’s what moms do, and partially because she was desperate for her to get with a man instead of women. |
I agree with this. I do think she was attractive and vivacious. |
Maybe they came in together, only needing to swipe his card, and she immediately left for a few minutes - could have left something at the club maybe. |
She could have left the room and jumped from a lower level. Since she had mentioned wanting to do that, I’m surprised nobody is talking about it. This would explain why she didn’t bring shoes. |
I have 20 something daughters. I don’t know exactly what shoes they bring on vacation until they actually wear them, and I’m sure they own shoes I have never seen. It’s possible she slipped into some flip flops or something that they didn’t know about. |
Yeah, and it sounds like they did not see him come off elevator without her. I think they went up together and later he walked by them and was by himself. I might be mistaken. But if so, it would be possible that the girls missed them coming down together and going their separate ways. It’s also possible that they weren’t the only ones up there. Could have been a whole party and she just stayed longer than him. |
I agree. And I think you’re proving the point that she was likely having fun dancing with Yellow. |
