Group:
Vs. Oklahoma Energy 2-2 (Ranked 51 in App)
Vs. La Roca 2-2 (Ranked 49 in App)
Vs. FC Pride 3-2 (Ranked 37 in App)
Sweet 16 vs. Sting Royal 1-0 (Ranked 36 in App)

Kind of a joke they even made it.

Can only play the teams in front of you.

Exactly. It was a weak group, but they won it. Same with RU 09 and VDA 08. Easy draws but you still have to win (or tie).

RU 09:
1-0 vs Arizona Arsenal (29 in app)
2-1 vs Nationals (11 in app)
2-1 vs La Roca (59 in app)
2-2 vs FC Dallas, W in PKs (5 in app)

VDA 08:
3-0 vs Sting Austin (46 in app)
2-1 vs Legends (19 in app)
1-0 vs MVLA (28 in app)
3-2 vs Eagles (15 in app)

Ultimately, yes.. Union has by far the easiest path.

RU and VDA had significantly more difficult paths.

Union 10 deserved an easier draw after having easily the worst draw in history last year. VDA 10s had an easy group and didn’t have to play a team from TX or CA. Beth 10 group was pretty easy too.

VDA 10s played Pateadores from Southern California. Why would you lie about something that’s so easily accessible?

About 3-4 were actively recruited to cross the line, none of these players made the decision to go.

I call this the typical bs you find on this forum. I directly asked ML this question and he told me that they didn’t talk to any 2010s so that they were focused on doing well and ending his time with the girls on a high. He did tell me about the 09s and 08s coming to Bethesda so I don’t know why he would lie about the 10s.

Being focused is all fine and good, but you'd have to be a fool to not at least attempt to reach out and gauge interest in any of the top 10's coming over to BSC. If it hasn't happened already it will, wether anyone takes that offer is a different story, but don't paint any of these coaches as holy spirits always looking to do the RIGHT thing, in the end they'll look out for #1 and the ones that feed them.

He didn’t tell you about all the players potentially coming.

This isn’t 2005 or even 2015. It is 2025 and CW is not that much of a draw especially for older players.

Didn’t say it made any sense just sharing what I’ve been told. This whole affair shows that this is a super tight knit boys network. They don’t care what we think just if their names can continue to attract min. 18 registrations for the teams they are coaching each year.

I heard KJ did not want any good girls coaches back because he was tired of hearing how bad the boys were especially with the bigger gap this year.
I also heard the club saves a lot of money if they don’t make it to playoffs which kind of makes sense as we heard about all the issues with trying to get the GK coach this year. I hope CW can have some success or I can see him retiring.

Penn Fusion 09 is the only PF team that qualified for Richmond.

Surprising that they're out because both of those teams were very impressive when we last played them. I figured one would make it to the finals. Great season and good luck next spring. We might have been happy to be there but outside of the SoCal blues game we hung in the other games, played more technical but couldn't score. Hit the post a few times, it is what it is, but a good experience nonetheless.

I watched MDU play for a bit. They have a weak midfield who can’t connect passes to their own team or be playmakers. Their midfield tends to play backwards or try to force the ball forward rather than using open players. Defense resorts to kick ball in the end. They need to learn to be a team.

Bethesda and Arlington know how to work as a team.

There is no need to rip on this MDU team. They went to SD and worked hard as the ultimate wild card. Way to fight MDU.

Not ripping team, take the time to watch them play. You will see they have some great talent individually, but as a team they don’t function well. Midfield is weak and selfish, players don’t communicate with each other and they definitely don’t use all players on the field.

I’ve seen them play and agree with this. They easily have the weakest midfield of the MA playoff teams. Overall I like their style of play and almost took my DD there once but this team is slow to move the ball. They look the part but when faced with tougher teams that control the midfield they fall apart. Unfortunate for them they drew Solar who is a very complete squad.
