He was talking about the auto industry if things continue down the path they are going.
But, you know that.

What path? The auto industry is actually doing well.

And he didn't limit it to the auto industry. But, you know that. You KNOW that.

Sure consumers are going to freaking love a 100 percent tariff on any foreign made cars. That should be fantastic for everyone.

This path....

So, you want pollution that causes asthma and ruins the environment?

I want a reliable form of transportation that will take me where I need to go.
EVs are nowhere close to that.

Gotta cater to the selfish to secure votes like yours, right?

Let me guess, you learned about EVs 20 years ago and never bothered to update your info as the technology progressed?

I've been driving an EV since 2019 and there is barely any difference between an EV and ICE vehicle, even on long trips. There is absolutely no question that EVs are "a reliable form of transportation that will take people where they need to go" aside from minor fringe cases that only affect a miniscule percentage of consumers.

I live in a rural area with no EV chargers. Literally - none.
We have one person in a neighborhood of over 400 families that has an EV. They use it as their "back up car." Or, to do local errands.
To get to any significant shopping, I have to travel more than an hour.
I am not willing to invest $$ in a vehicle that will require a new battery costing half the price of the vehicle in 8 years.
I have lots of other reasons.... but suffice it to say, this country is NOWHERE ready to make the changes that Biden is pushing.

So don't get one. It's that simple. But there are cases where EVs make sense to those that choose them.

Horse and buggy users probably said similar things when the new fangled horseless carriages where introduced.

That is precisely my attitude. If you want an EV, and it fits your budget and your lifestyle, go for it.
It doesn't work for me.
And, that is why the regulations that Biden is pushing are ludicrous. There are likely more people like ME than those that are jumping on the EV bandwagon. And, he is making it so many of us will NOT have a choice in 8 years.

Spoken like someone who doesn't own one. I do and I love it so much. Takes me everywhere I need to go. We've even done long road trips with it, halfway across the country. But it's the every day going to work scenario that has me convinced I'll never go back to a combustion engine again. I can't even begin to say how awesome it is not to have to go to the gas station ever. Twice a week I "fill it up" overnight at home. And no oil changes. Also we had absolutely no issues with it over the winter when all the fossil fuel adherents were yammering about EVs being problematic. Not a single issue.

I didn't even want an EV. It was my spouse who pushed it and I resisted. So glad I relented.

If you're the PP that lives in a rural area and needs to drive an hour to get any shopping done then, sorry, you're in the minority and an edge case.

No technology is going to get 100% adoption overnight but EV sales are increasing every year. So it looks like more and more see some value in it. What regulations is Biden pushing that will make it so you can't get an ICE vehicle in 8 years? That's mostly a rhetorical question since it's been asked before in other threads and nobody has a coherent answer.

If you live in a place where you have a “neighborhood” of 400 families and not a single one of them knows how to upgrade a home charger, you don’t live rurally. You live in a far right exurb of foot stampers.

Oh look it's the gaslighters telling us that what we heard with our own ears isn't really true. Yet again.

We went through this so many times in the Trumpenvolk years. It’s just so tedious with the firebrand fascists explaining, as if they were calm and sensible, how what Trump said was taken out of context and he couldn’t have meant it and aren’t we silly and hysterical.

But really Trump was using more coded language to say: if I don’t win, I want my followers to turn this country into a bloodbath for liberals. That’s what he wanted his brown shirts to hear. And then to lie about.

Then keep your gas vehicle. Nobody GAF. Your living circumstance doesn’t describe the vast majority.

You live in a "rural area" that has 400 households in your "neighborhood"? LOL OK.

One of these is not like the other....

It's also why his angry followers are trying to.turn this thread into a discussion about EVs.

Anything to distract from their leader literally saying there will be a "bloodbath."
