Here is exactly what he said: “We’re going to put a 100% tariff on every single car that comes across the line, and you’re not going to be able to sell those guys if I get elected. Now, if I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath for the whole – that’s gonna be the least of it. It’s going to be a bloodbath for the country. That’ll be the least of it.” Yes, he *was* talking about the auto industry. But Trump has been known to change topics mid-sentence. This is right up there with "Proud Boys, stand back and stand by" in that his target audience knows exactly what he's saying. |

What path? The auto industry is actually doing well. And he didn't limit it to the auto industry. But, you know that. You KNOW that. Sure consumers are going to freaking love a 100 percent tariff on any foreign made cars. That should be fantastic for everyone. |

Yes, he clearly started his thought process that it'd be a bloodbath for the auto industry, then changed his thought process mid sentence to make it a bloodbath for the country. It's so naive to pretend otherwise. But in any event, even if the PP upthread is currently spinning otherwise, Trump will lay down 100's of these quotes over the summer. |

Using the phrase “political/electoral bloodbath” is nothing like what Trump said:
"Now If don't get elected, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole...That's going to be the least of it, it's going to be a bloodbath for the whole country" He is using the very coded language that Michael Cohen referenced in his Stormy Daniels testimony. |
