I didn’t realize it was a crime to make “false statements” in Georgia. That’s going to be a tough one for Trump. No freedom of speech defense.

Having seen the reaction of the Trump base after he tweeted negative things about Senator during my time at the Senate, they also fear for their lives. The threats were unhinged and frightening. One of the reasons I left. I couldn’t take Senators defending MAGA when the reaction was terrifying.

The crime is making false statements in a conspiracy in furtherance of a crime.

The false statement charges are about false statements made to the legislature and other GA officials in the course of their duties. The same is illegal under federal law. Nothing unique about GA.

This situation reminds me of thr novel Moby Dick. Trump is the White Whale and Captain Ahab is the Democrats, who have been chasing Trump since 2016. In the book, the White Whale defeats Captain Ahab and in 2024 Trump will do the same.
