No matter your politics, no one has an issue with this? The police taking stuff just to see if anything is there? Wow.
to do that you need a warrant. To get a warrant you have to show reasonable cause.

Warrants are very specific, you can not take everything "just in case"

Who said the FBI took anything not specified in the warrant?

Well if you read what you are replying to you'd notice

grabbed documents and boxes without going through them on the property. They took boxes and documents to go through them later.

note the words "to go through later". no search warrant would allow you to grab boxes without spelling out the contents

What do people think is going to happen when republicans take over the house? I don’t think democrats are thinking this through. Plus now at mid terms, Trump is getting all this air time and now his base is getting all riled up. Poor poor chess move.

So you are saying the republicans in the house will use their power to attempt to interfere with a lawful investigation of a federal crime? And you think that’s a good thing?

When Republicans takeover the House, they are going to open up nonstop investigations.

They were going to do that anyways. They don't have any policies to run on. I'd add that they'll probably shut down the government too unless Biden agrees to defund whatever their dear leader or Fox News tells them to.

Which they would have done regardless of the MAL search.

And that's different from before how?
That's the only thing Republicans actually do at this point. Open investigations.

That’s a great thread.

And put my money on: Trump has been selling the highest state secrets to our enemies.

The only thing that would surprise me about that is if he was paying enough attention to briefings or docs to even know what the state secrets are.

Everyone thinks Trump is a dummy, but he is an evil genius. There was money behind it, so of course he was paying attention to it. The briefings he ignored because it only helped the country, not him.

He has a kind of snake intelligence but he is not a genius, lol. We've all heard him talk.

They do that every time they take the House. Yawn.

No, I am saying that democrats should not throw stones when they live in a glass house because republicans can throw back. By opening up investigations against current sitting presidents.

I'm glad this happened, but I'm not holding my breath for Donny to be indicted for anything. Too many politicians don't won't want a former POTUS to be indicted. Looks bad.

Republicans have been doing that for almost 30 years now.

The funniest part of all this is that Republicans made this stuff a felony after Sandy Berger.

They certainly do. Here's a list and discussion of the various investigations the Republicans launched when Obama was president.

Overall, according to our tally, the above inquiries of the Obama administration totaled over 8,400 days of investigation, from launch to final report. That’s 23 years of probes covering an eight-year administration.

They've already done that. But oh no, we don't want that again. I guess we'll have to let Trump get away with breaking the law.

Yawn. They would have done that any way. Not really a threat. And as Trumps administration established, congressional subpoenas are optional so garland can show up if he feels like it. Or not.
