| I can always tell when women wear them and I think they look awful! Do people really think they are hiding the fact that they are wearing socks? So unfashionable Going sans socks is a must in flats.I usually spray a little aerosol deodorant in my flats before wearing them, and that prevents me from sweating in them. Also, the flats don't smell bad! |

True. Similar to black socks with shorts or nude knee highs with a skirt or nude nylons that slouch around the ankles. Just wrong. On a side note, can anyone recommend a brand that actually stays on your feet and doesn't shrink up below your foot? |

| Interesting. I have some shoes I have to wear socks, so I wear trouser socks (like heavy knee length pantyhose). Maybe this is a no-no too. I am assuming you mean those tiny little socks meant to hide in the shoe. |

| 0634 that's what I do. Can't stand being barefoot w/dresss flats at work all day, my feet hurt. Gotta wear sheer/nude knee highs or maybe sheer black trouser socks if its an all black outfit. |

You're doing it right. OP is talking about skirts with bare legs and socks that are not meant to show outside the shoe, but do show anyway. With pants, keep your trouser socks if you prefer them to going without socks. |

| I hate the socks that aren't supposed to show but do. However, what about protecting your pedicure. I find without the socks, my pedis don't seem to last as long. My solution is flip flops, but that a whole other discussion. |

Yes, I've found a brand that fit my feet and ballet flats nicely. Really, you can't see them. And my feet have improved immensely (callouses/corns are gone, no more rubs on the inside of my feet or my heels). |

At this point it looks better to just wear black ankle socks with flats, in jeans or in a skirt. Or maybe dark blue or emerald.
Either wear no socks or wear them with style, I always say. |
