+1 I'm finding it kind of amusing that some posters have "never seen" this look before and are making it into a big deal when it's not. |
I think the thing that is weird about it is that I can totally see people casually throwing a coat around their shoulders when in transit - e.g., just arriving or just leaving, going from a hotel lobby and into your cab, a conference room to your office, or perhaps even as a shawl in your office for warmth when you are working at your desk, etc. It is not, however, something normal people do when you are standing at a podium and giving a speech or leading a meeting - particularly when they are inside. Normal people put their arms in the sleeves of their blazers. It is so bizarre. |
I draped my jacket over my left shoulder for awhile, but that was because I broke my shoulder. |
DP but nope never. I've seen it before (years and years ago) but not recently. It is a weird thing to do. |
weird? isn't "weird" in the eye of the beholder? Meaning it doesn't need to be verbalized? |
Two of these 3 photos are outdoors. It’s much weirder to be photographed with coats draped around your shoulders over and over and over at indoor photo ops. |
Also they aren't regular people - they are influencers having staged photos. I've never seen this on a regular person in real life. I guess maybe I'm just not hanging out in enough influencer circles. Poor me! |
I do it indoors more than outdoors. I don't want to be restricted in coat or jacket sleeves when eating, working, etc. |
This is the photo Ivanka posted as a tribute to her mom. Just a little different vibe.

We get it, you do this, you're getting defensive that people think it's weird. Get over it. |
Well, seems like you and Melania both. Recent video talking to military mothers - same thing! Even when giving a speech! (Her speech is on 10 minute mark) |
that is a great picture that also feels like a whooooole novel |
What is even happening with this dress?? 👗 Whole novel is right. RIP Ivana, you MVP of this thread. |
