How expensive is MOMs

Compared to say, Whole Foods. We have a Coop close by but it does not have a lot of variety.

I feel like it is expensive! Can't give you numbers, but I always come away from MOMs feeling like I spent more than I do at Yes or TJs.

Feel like it's expensive and doesn't have near the amount of choice that WF does. Piddly little produce aisle. Small store.

I went to the one in Mosaic district and was VERY UNIMPRESSED.

I really like the MOMs in Del Ray. I go there over WF because the prices are comparable and they have more local foods. I have done direct comparison shopping and found MOMs prices to be very good. Its not trying to be WF so if that is what you're looking for you're not going to get it. Its a small, local health food store in the old fashioned sense. I wish they had more meat but I just need to remember to get there when the farms deliver. Best chicken ever.

I like that Mom's has a sense of ethics. WF doesn't.

That too.

Organic milk is significantly cheaper than anywhere else, including costco. And they have stone cut oatmeal at bulk.

I shop there because I want to buy quality food, their milk is as close to raw milk you can buy in a store, their meat is grass fed from local sources, and it's owned locally. I also like their commitment to the community and that they offer recycling of things like batteries, cork and shoes!

That said, I do have to be careful as I toss things in my basket. I rarely shop at WF so I can't comment on the price difference.

And, it's a local business. I stop at MOMs at least once a week to get soy milk, vegetarian dog food, and our families meatless dinners. We take our used batteries there as well. I go there first, and if I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll go to WF. It's a great little store in Delray!!!

If the reason you buy organic is the ethics, MOMs is your store. You can buy what you need there and not worry that the meat is actually from a feed lot that serve organic corn slurry. Can't say the same for WF. I am on a tight budget, though, and so at MOMs I go in for certain things, and I don't allow myself to look at shampoo or granola bars or whatnot. But I'd do the same at WF. We do the rest of our shopping at Food Lion, so it evens out!

MOMs is definitely cheaper than WF for the exact same products. It is, however, not cheaper than Giant/Safeway. I adore the place -- it's relaxing, the samples are awesome, the music is nice, aisles wide. It doesn't have enough to replace all my grocery shopping, but it's great for meats/cheese/bread/very fresh produce.

I must be doing something wrong at MOMs. I found their produce to be fair pricier than WF.

MN. I'm an idiot. I am thinking of Yes! Their produce seems very pricey to me. Sorry. Carry on.

MOMs is way too expensive. I suggest Giant or Safeway. Let's see who ends up healthier and living longer.
