Given more 2011 girls from McLean made FVU than from Brave, bet there are some upset parents.

Where will Brave players go? Seems like there is so much talent between McLean and Brave but 18 spots only for both.

Assuming most go back to Vienna RL team.

Several are staying with Union to include a couple of dual rostered spots. Others are going to SYC and a couple to Arlington and NVA.

There are 2011G from Brave that are going to Arlington?

Yes, one.

I thought it was only one from the 2011G Union that is going to Arlington 2011G. Is there a Brave 2011G going to 2011G Arlington?

Believe Arlington 2011G are picking up 2 girls. Thought both were from McLean.

One from Mclean, one from Brave

Actually Arlingtion 2011G is getting at least three new players -- one from VA Union, one from Brave, and the goalie from McLean RL.

That’s at least 19 then

They will move a girl down or maybe one has said they are leaving the club so they will have 16 field players and 2 goalies.

Will Sports Illustrated be picking up this story soon?

No, but I’m arguing if they played 20 times, only once would the outcome be a Union win by 5 goals. Given their history (close games, with Brave having beaten Union before), the 5 goal Union win last year was much more of an outlier than last weekend’s Brave win.

If those teams played ten games it could possibly go 6/4 or 7/3 in Braves favor. When they decided the coaching slate for this team and a couple others, Union parents kicked and screamed about the possibility of having MV as a coach.

If MV can pull off wins like this with his ‘less talented team’ then isn’t it safe to say he would have been a better option than who was chosen?

And the ‘less talented team’ comment has been thrown around quite freely by some of the Union parents. Brave parents disagree with that description.

It is because MV has no recruiting track record. The age group he is taking over is entering the thick of recruiting and those kids are getting a career Vienna coach who has virtually no recruiting experience.

And CW, NM, ML and JA won't be there to help with this? Stop looking for reasons to fail. It's already been decided so make the best of it.

CW and NM can help. ML? No chance.

If Mclean has the "supposed" secret sauce, they better make it work for all, regardless of who is coaching. Who knows, perhaps recruiters prefer non-drama to the point individuals

That’s ridiculous. If CW, ‘NM’, and JA are there he could just lean on them when needed. Teams should be given the best head coach the club has to offer. If the kids are developed correctly, recruitment track record won’t matter. They WILL be recruited!

Development is part of it. Many years of trust earned with college coaches is a big part of the process. Say you've coached 10 kids who have gone to a college program over the years you have a pretty good idea if a current player will fit with that programs needs and style. The college coach will also trust your recommendations or thoughts on a player in that regards.

MV has none of these relationships built up.

Wow! This is bad for the 2011G FVU. They are already thin on talent and having those two field players leave is a blow to them. I would not be surprise the few decent players left may tryout for Bethesda and may be gone if offers are received. They just will forfiet their deposit and move on.

The remaining few decent players that stay will be monitoring how things progress with this new FVU for another season and if the losing trend continues the will be going else where next year (Arlington, NVA or Bethesda).

In high school any decent talent would like to be on a team that makes the ECNL team playoffs so they have the ability to showcase their talent by playing with equilvalent talent.

I dont think the players that have left by choice or the club’s choice are irreplaceable. And why in the world would NVA be an option over FVU at the 2011 age group? If you’re going to stir the pot, at least say some things that make sense.

The difference is ML and JA aren’t the head coach for u17.
