Nothing changed with the weekend’s results in terms of Capital tryouts. Stars has a number of very strong players with a good chance at Cap Blue. And while Pride played well as a team, no new locks for Capital emerged. Most predictions by all rational parties have been pretty consistent: Pride and Stars will both have players make Capital Blue and, likely, at roughly a 2:1 ratio. Ones and twos from other clubs will provide the remainder.

A more controversial take, but one I happen to agree with, is that if Pride is a top 10 team on its own, the combined group at Capital will be pretty good.

And for the PP struggling with the word “schemes”, the reference is to offensive plays and defensive structures, not backroom dealings.

God you sound like a do$che.

Way to add value in a way that proves that you certainly are one. If you disagree with any points, make a case; if not, I’m not super-interested in your views.

“And for the PP struggling with the word ‘schemes’ . . .” Certainly you are smug but you knew that.

Pride lost some players recently and generally played short-handed, having only 16 players for their Summer Genesis win. Just plugging their gaps would result in a better team. I think it would be reasonable to conclude a hand picked team of the best from Pride, Stars, YJ, NL, etc., and maybe even some from MD teams, would be better than that. We shall see!

Does it really matter what club the kid originated from? Caps are Caps.

Pride parents are already seeing Capital as their territory - a Pride 2.0. It is all over this board.

Most logical thing I have seen on this board. Ever.

Except there are no 2028 Caps yet. The topic being discussed is what the future team might look like and whether they will be good. It would be difficult to have that discussion without considering where the players originate from unless we start identifying individual players, which would be a terrible idea.

You are all correct:

Club of origin does not matter

AND

Pride and Stars will have the most players selected*

*unless the MoCo Hero’s players show up and then all bets are off.

This is untrue…. Just ask the 26 SSSAS player that made Varsity as a freshman for KJ but was placed on orange. Went on to leave the next year after still not making blue.

SSSAS helps but not as much as people think

Are you saying there's actually a way we can gamble on this?

Best girls make it. Period. Why is that so hard to comprehend? Gussie wants a winning program and she’s going to take the best players who tryout regardless of where they come from. I hope some random girl from nowhere makes it to shut all of you up already.

I agree the best players will be selected. I have not heard anyone say there won’t be players from various teams. I’m not a Pride or Stars parent and even I know those teams will have the most. But that doesn’t mean my daughter won’t be selected. Everyone actually seems to on the same page.

Nobody did. And they aren’t coming to Capital.

We will have another chance to test these theories in a couple of hours.
