This is insane. Scared about work. It's impossible to find a sitter in this type of situation. How is everyone else able to handle this?
|
We aren't. It's stressful for everyone right now. I'm lucky in that 1) my husband and I both have pretty flexible options to telecommute and 2) there are lots of young families in the office so people understand. |
Kids After Hours. Only way we can handle it, both husband and I need to go to work tomorrow.

I can't believe they called it for tomorrow! I assumed a 2 hour delay, but not closed. |
We pay for an aftercare program which is supposed to be open in situations like this (administrative offices open) but they are violating their own written policies and not opening. And they have done this several times now this year.
Wondering if other programs like ours advertise how they provide backup care in situations like this to get people to sign up but don't really do it? |
I'm taking dd to work with me and stashing her with an iPad. |

Moco lifted their state of emergency at 5 pm this evening, so it doesn't apply for tomorrow. |
If I don't see snow ever again, that will be fine with me. But I never like snow. Can never enjoy it without thinking the trouble it causes. It never feels like it is worth it for me. But snow day in March is just too much. |
The roads are going to be a dangerous mess tomorrow. I don't want my kids on the road going to school. Last week's delay proved to be a huge disaster. Cars and school buses were getting into accidents and stuck left and right. I would much rather that the school system play it safe than listen to complaining parents who think they know better but don't. |
Many roads are fine (may not be in some areas, but ours is). Went to work today. Just went in later, worked later. |
I am a teacher and would happily take in a kid or two my own kids ages on snow days for a small amount of money. Only one neighbor has ever asked. If you are friendly with a teacher or your child is friends with a teacher's kid, ask. Most of us with kids are stuck home anyway. |
You could put a note on your neighborhood listserv and make some money tomorrow. Seriously. |
I know it was the right call to make. I still feel like I want to pull all the hair off my head though. I'm so done with winter this year. Spring cannot come soon enough. This weekend when we spring forward seems like it's coming way to early (I know it's not, it just seems that way). |
Bar-T is open tomorrow. My son will be there all day while I am at work. |
