EMERGENCY MESSAGE: 3/3/2014 at 6:59 PM -- Refresh page to update message
Montgomery County Public Schools are closed Tuesday, March 4, 2014 due to emergency weather conditions. All school and community activities in school buildings also are canceled. Administrative offices will be open on time. Day care programs in school buildings may choose to open, but parents should check with their day care provider. |
Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!
Mcps super sucks! |
A 2 hour delay would have been sufficient. On the other hand, all these people in the area who speed on icy roads...
Sigh. There should be a drivers' ice/snow exam and more enforcement of sidewalk shoveling. |
So unnecessary. |
I think it was the right call. My Bethesda street is bad. |
Very icy here. Hard freeze expected. I'm not telling the kids, I want them to get to bed!! |
Why?? We didn't get as much as DC - two hours would have sufficed. Though maybe it's because it will be below freezing all day so nothing will melt? So stir-crazy!! |
+1 it is clear mid county. |
Oh my. Even my kids were hoping to go back tomorrow. |
Yup, very surprised it's not a delay. |
Omfg I ve been home for 4 days straight (one kid was sick on Friday) |
My Olney neighborhood street has not been touched by a plow. A friend drove by Blair High School about an hour ago and it had not been plowed. It's not just getting the schools cleared, if the streets haven't been touched, then how are buses supposed to navigate around the neighborhoods? |
I am surprised so many are unsure of this decision. A lot of the county is a mess- including my neighborhood. Just because your neighborhood is clear does not mean the whole county is. |
But for the taxes we pay, the county SHOULD be plowed. It has been 8hrs since the snow has ended. They knew when it was coming and when it was going to end. To just not have the manpower to clear these roads and schools is ridiculous. The county is too big. It never works. |
+1m There is no excuse for roads not being cleared. None. |
