Rec a neighborhood / area in Loudon if we are coming from FCPS

In the case that we may move out to Loundon, we a refund with our elem school but we ding but intk the heavy pressure / AAP mindset so prevalent in FFX county.

Diversity isn't a factor at all; we just want a nice safe area in which to look for a home and schools.

We are refund?? How did that happen? I typed " we are fine with."

Sorry for all the autocorrect screwups...."we don't buy into the heavy pressure"

Cascades in Sterling is a nice established community.

You should look at the Newton-Lee or Selden's Landing ES - Belmont Ridge MS - Riverside High School districts. Riverside will be a new high school and everyone has been working hard already to make it amazing for the kids.

Cascades is going downhill. More and more crime there. I would stay away.

Anything off of Algonquin (sp?) parkway seems really nice.

Parts of Ashburn are very nice, a little snobby, but nice.

Unless you actually have to get out of it, in which case you sit in traffic forever.

Loudon county doesn't have AAP, but they have Futura and Spectrum which are similar. The high school pressure is very similar to FCPS.

I disagree.

I disagree.

To elaborate: DC puts a lot of pressure on him/herself, and I get lots of comments from neighbors that I should "ease off" and concentrate less on academics and more on sports and socializing, so that DC can really enjoy high school. So those are DC's peers, not the kids whose parents are pushing them to the Ivy League or even UVA.

I've heard that college admissions officers like kids from newer schools, b/c the kids really get to show leadership by founding, not just joining/being president of activities and clubs.
