Rec a neighborhood / area in Loudon if we are coming from FCPS

I'd probably be more concerned that college admissions officers wouldn't be familiar with a new school, to be honest.

Honestly we are not that uptight that we'd be looking at colleges who would be quite so not picky. Our kids are bright and involved, but college is very overpriced at this point in time and we don't have a problem with state colleges. Also, we likely will no longer be in Virginia by the time college rolls around.

Just looking for good recs to research in Loundon. Thanks.

I've lived here for 7 years and this has not been my experience. OP, Cascades (zip 20165) is probably the best commuting location in Loudoun. Elem's are Lowes Island, Horizon, or Potowmack.

Diversity isn't a factor at all[b]; we just want a nice safe area in which to look for a home and schools.

Loudoun may not be for you. Diversity is on the rise in many of LCPS. So, if you're trying to escape minorities you may want to look further south than Loudoun County. Also, if you're trying to escape heavy pressure on academics, then Loudoun isn't the place for you either. Just stay where you're at. Loudoun doesn't need your bigotry and low expectations on academics mentality.

Isn't that the exact opposite of what the OP said? I took her to be saying they weren't fleeing FCPS because of the diversity or requiring a certain demographic mix in Loudoun. If you think some people don't move to Loudoun to escape the focus on AAP in some parts of Fairfax, you haven't been out much. Some people just want a lower-key environment.
