Thoughts? I can't decide whether this is cute or gross. I will be 7 months pregnant when I go to South Beach (location weighs in favor of less clothing, not more), and I don't know whether to go with a maternity one piece/tankini or just wear a bikini. I am pretty small and haven't gotten that big in other places (but I am not my normal size 2-4 self) during my pregnancy, but the pregnant belly is something I can't decide on whether to bare at the pool/beach. What do people think? |
If you have the body for it, I say GO FOR IT! I think it's cute, but I could never pull it off. |
if i were normally a 2/4, i'd do it. be proud, mama! |
Gross if noticeably pregnant. A big belly may be awe-inspiring, kiss-worthy, life-creating and a rhetorical thing of beauty but in a bikini it just does not look good. I get the heebie-jeebies from seeing any bared pregnant midriff. |
If a big fat belly doesn't look good in a bikini, why would a pregnant one? Just because pregnancy is a lovelyl thing, doesn't mean everything associated with it is too. Spare us. |
It's South Beach! believe me even if people think a big pregnancy belly is gross (which is ridiculous), you won't have the biggest belly on the beach. People there let it all hang out whether they are a size 2 or a size 22. Be proud!
And btw, I think a pregnant belly in a bikini is adorable if you have the body to pull it off. Have fun! |
...gross... |
Shit, if I were a 2/4, I would go naked.
I am not kidding. |
I'd go in the bikini if I were small to start with.
Not everyone really gets huge when very pregnant much less at 7mos. think it'd be cute. |
Go FOR IT!!! Who cares if you have a preggo belly as long as your fit elsewhere???? YOU HAVE A BABY GROWING! There is nothing gross about that.
I was in another country a few years ago and lots of preggo women there wore bikinis (they were otherwise fit except for the big belly) and they looked fab. |
PP here who said go for it! Keep in mind that all of these people that are saying GROSS are probably thinking about themselves in a bikini whilst pregnant. At a size 2/4 I'm pretty confident you will not be offensive. And again, I point to the fact that you're going to SoBe where nobody covers up. |
CUTE! You're the tiniest woman pregnant. How big could you possibly be? Imagine Kate Hudson pregnant in a bikini... cu-uuute! Now imagine Kate Hudson in South Beach hiding her pregnant belly under a black tankini.... no, it just doesn't work. YOUR body is the driving idea behind a bikini while pregnant. Go for it, just remember you need to feel confident to project confidence! And if someone has pregnancy aversion heebie-jeebies, too bad. Maybe you have fat-ass in Speedo aversions, and you're being visually assaulted at every turn on the beach?! |
I think that tiny, skinny people with just a big baby bump look great in bikinis. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
Go for it! |
I really don't care for the exposed-belly look, whether or not the woman is skinny... |
I think it looks perfectly fine but I would be worried about keeping the bottoms up. I swam alot and the one piece worked really great. I had a hard time keeping underwear and pants up throughout the 3rd trimester. I considered suspenders but just ended up accepting that I would have to get pulling everything up and embrace the plumber's look. |
