Do what makes you comfortable, i always wore bikini and didn't see need to change that while pregnant. If someone thinks it's gross, they can simply turn away. I also was vacationing in greece a couple of years ago on an island, where a pregnant woman was sitting beside us, not only in bikini, but also topless ![]() |
From someone born and raised on SoBe, I say go for it. People walk around more than half naked there - its totally not a big deal as long as you are comfortable. |
I have been preggo twice and am normally a 2 not preggo. I always wore bikinis when preggo at the beach both times (both at 7 months) and didn't think twice about it. I think when you are that small and you try to wear one of the maternity bathing suits, it actually makes you look worse. Sport the bikini! |
I wore a bikini until the day before I gave birth, I was a size six before pregnant. I got lots of compliments. |
Love it!
However, if I were you I'd have a tankini on hand incase you feel self-conscious. And make sure it's a pregnancy bikini. I tried my regular bikini while pregnant, and the top was waaaaay too small. |
Please! OP, have you seen some of the fat-asses on the beaches? You got nothing to worry about.... |
Wear the bikini. I wore one to Puerto Rico at 6 months and it was fine, a lot of fit pregnant women were wearing them. I was small to begin with too. I think it is harder in the earlier stages of preg, before you are obviously pregnant and just look fat, but at 7 mos you are beyond that. I have a friend that looked so good at 8 mos guys would be checking her out from the back on the beach and then be shocked (impressed) when she turned around! |
Think about why women wear bikinis. It has to do with vanity. (Now, there are some clueless wonders sporting bikinis who shouldn't be, but that's a different story.)
If you feel good about your body and you think it's sexy, then do it. Just wear lots and lots of sunscreen. |

I wore one at 7 mos pg in Key West. Loved it - and, no, I don't have an ideal figure. Wasn't obese but was very plump and very pregnant. But, God, the sun feels soooooo good on your belly. And it feels amazing to float when pg as well. |
Go for it!
i wore a bikini at 7 months pregnant and thought I looked just fine! My friends didn't seem to have any problem hanging w/ me on the beach or they probably would have let me know. ![]() i haven't worn a one-piece in years. I'm *mostly* secure about my body, and very secure about my stomach, as i don't typically gain weight there. but as an athletic pear-shaped chick with a small chest, one-piece bathing suits look really awful on me. post-baby, i'll probably go back to bikinis - hopefully my crunch-toned stomach will distract from my bigger hips/thighs! |
...especially if your belly button popped and the stretch marks have set in. |
You can always hope the volumptious boobs get more attention than the baby bump.
Besides, keep in mind that some women carry their babies differently. I looked like a whale from month 7-9, but my sister, who is taller, looked really cute and pulled off the "model look" of maternity clothes. It really depends. |
