In her instagram video she talks about not always navigating well in her awkward years... "being more this or being more that".

People from her prep school years only describe her as white with perfect English. No "this or that" and def no accent.

Alec posted they were flying away. I hope they did. They need a total reset.

Curious what everyone thinks the next steps will be to try to save their reputation?

Some form of rehab? Radio silence?

If you've ever looked into the connection between dopamine and social media, she's going to have some major issues going cold turkey.

I suspect she will continue doing what she’s being doing and people who follow her will continue talking about it.

Is that the pic from the Daily Mail? That pic is not from the wedding. It’s been lifted straight from her dad’s FB page and it’s from a gala her parents attended in 2014z

+1. I've seen no proof they were there and their omission from the NYT wedding column is very odd. They have ideal NYT wedding announcement status credentials.

Exactly very odd! I remember after I read the announcement doing some investigating online and fairly quickly finding out she used to be Hilary and who her parents were, I guess no one really cared back then or had more interesting stories to follow.

There are so many imposter stories.

- There is the guy who impersonated Sidney Poitier’s fictional son -- his name is David Hampton -- and inspired the play and then the movie Six Degrees of Separation.
- The guy who impersonating Stanley Kubrick and inspired the movie Color Me Kubrick (starring John Malkovich)
- All the women who impersonate Anastasia the Czarina

I'm sure there are more famous ones that I'm forgetting.

Talented Mr Ripley, so good. Hand that Rocks the Cradle!

The boys all have a common American name as one of their middle names. I suppose they could always choose to go by one of their middle names when they are older.

What are the other names?

You can look these things up on your own. We don’t discuss children here.

Romeo, Leonardo, and Rafael. It's not discussing the children-- it's discussing the names

They all have a common American name as one of their middle names...Thomas, Charles, David, Lucas. They can always choose to go by one of their middle names as they become older

"The NYU alum and her 62-year-old husband gave all five of their children Spanish names - daughter Carmen Gabriela, 7; son Rafael Thomas, 5; son Leonardo Ángel, 4; son Romeo Alejandro, 2; and son Eduardo 'Edu' Pao Lucas, 3 months"

Nothing wrong with their names per se but they will ''wear' her lie for their entire lives. She knew what she was doing when she gave her children those names. And there is a high likelihood that she told the kids they are of Spanish heritage.

One of the articles mentions that this all came to a head when Hilaria failed to have a sense of humor about Amy Schumer’s post; she was so offended, and accused Schumer of “body shaming” her, which is rather absurd. I don’t think she has the ability to poke fun of herself.

All signs point to her having some serious issues with her parents. Someone has to know the details of that!

Agreed.

She is clearly mental but I don't see the big deal about that name.

Nada a post today on IG. Not even a glimpse of a kid in her story. Girlfriend must be on heavy sedatives to deal with the withdrawal symptoms.

All accounts seem to say that she was a nice person but living a lie is pretty draining so she probably lost a lot of capacity to laugh at herself or have genuine fun.

Sorry, how did Hilario being angry about Amy’s post spur Leni to blow up this whole thing?

As was described in the early days of this thread, Hilaria's connection to her childhood and family was always a very curated thing on the internet. Trying to find basic things about her via google was difficult, everything was manipulated. The entire wedding announcement was intentionally calculated to present an idea of something without outwardly stating it. Hilaria and Alec's strategy all along has been to omit information so they wouldn't have to lie about it.

That is the best typo I’ve ever made BTW

Sounds like they were both successful and obsessed with their careers, while her and her brother turned out to be underachievers considering the privileged circumstances and very expensive educations they were born into. I suppose it does call into question who raised them. Dad was a lawyer and mom was a very young doctor when the kids were adolescents. I'm guessing nannies and/or grandparents were heavily involved.

Even for a multicultural family, these names are odd choices. I'm in a bicultural family and we picked names that were familiar in both languages and wouldn't present any pronunciation challenges in either language. We asked other people in our situation and they directed us towards international names like Paul, Lucas, Anna, Maria, etc. I think in the US you can get away with everyone knowing Spanish names but it's still odd, especially since all the names are uniformly Spanish with no exception.
