Hope this can stay on topic because I am just curious what the results will be.
State the grade your child is in, what school cluster and what you would rate their education thus far - on a scale of 1 to 10. |
Richard Montgomery cluster
2nd grader, 5 7th grader, 3.5 In my opinion, it seems to get worse after grade 3. |
Whitman, high school, 9 rating. |
Churchill
2nd grader rating of 7 4th grader rating of 5 |
Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, MD - science/tech program.
10th grader - rating of 10. Her brother graduated from Roosevelt four years ago - another rating of 10. I can't speak highly enough of that school...its teachers, administration (somehow the principal makes it to every single event ever, even JV volleyball games), the intense curriculum, the opportunities (senior year practicum and internships, Diff. Equations courses taught at the school by a Catholic Univ. teacher, AP classes galore), school spirit, extracurriculars...just incredible. My son graduated with 55 college credits. My daughter is active in sports and four clubs even while she has a tough academic workload--and she loves going to school. This topic always gets me gushing. ![]() |
My friend is a professor at UMD. She says great kids come out of Roosevelt. |

Clarksburg cluster. Two kids in elementary school. Very happy so far. |
Travilah ES - W cluster, 2nd grader D and 4th grader C- |
Walter Johnson cluster
9th grade: 8 12th grade: 9 |
I wanted to add 8th grade (last year): 6 IMO, high school is better than middle school. I think this is true almost everywhere, however. |
DCC
2nd grader - 7 4th at HGC - 9 |
I live in this cluster and am curious why you give such a low rating. Not that I disagree. I have my concnerns about schools here as well and am gatheirng other opinions. Thanks. |
