MCPS elementary in yuppie area (uniform 2.0 curriculum across the county in elementary schools, so why bother distinguishing schools?)
4th grader - 3 1st grader - 5 Wish I could afford private school. |

| How do you evaluate your kids school? My kid is in 7th and very independent. I've never been in a class with him. He does his homework independently. He gets As without too much work, but maybe that's ok. I've briefly met his teachers at back to school night but I can't evaluate their teaching based on that. What are you basing your opinion on? (BCC cluster). |

It's got a nice beat, I can dance to it, so I'll give it a 7.
Seriously though, my daughter is at an HGC; 4th grade was outstanding, I'd probably give it a 8-9. 5th grade has been less impressive albeit still pretty good. 6 or 7? |

Kid is in HGC - 4th grade - so quality of instruction is 8/10. Math curriculum is 7/10. I supplement and teach Math to my child too, but it would be easier if I was not trying to handle his education from all angles. |
