But it seems that when money is involved, this preference seems to go out the window.

'I don’t want a liberal man, I want someone who believes in a traditional family,' said one female millionaire.

Other reasons for this political preference in a partner: ambition.

'I want to be with a man who is ambitious, liberal men simply aren’t as ambitious,' said another female millionaire, according to the dating site, which aims to bring together successful singles.

Apparently, democratic female millionaires also find liberal men 'less masculine'.

'Simply put, conservative men are real men. They are the breadwinners, they wear the pants and they treat you like a lady,' one woman said.

I have a close relative who is a "real man" and he is deeply in debt and in bad health from smoking (Marlboro Man, anyone?) and struggling to survive while my metrosexual liberal dh brings home a good salary and takes good care of me and our child. My husband is liberal in his political views, but quite masculine in his actions. He was in the military, he is a security contractor, we both want a fairly traditional upbringing for our kids (save lack of religion - we don't attend church and are agnostic). I think it is possible to still want the all American life without being conservative.
