We are actually not a huge pb house and I never buy the big container. I bought one of those JIFF pb to go (mini containers) the other day and my preschooler loves it. She is even eating celery (not a big fan usually) with it and to tell the truth, I like the convenience as well.
Of course I cannot send this to her school and sometimes I do send sunflower seed butter and jelly sandwich. Have you ever seen sunflower seed butter "to go?" I looked at Wegmans and didn't find it - any suggestions? On a side note, is JIFF pb good? I don't' usually like pb but I am also really liking this one. I am not sure if it is because I am pregnant or what, but I actually WANT to eat it…. Is it considered junk food? Highly processed? If so, is there a good tasty alternative? |

Yes, but you'll have to order it online.
http://www.peanutfreeplanet.com/category_s/606.htm There's several varieties of peanut butter substitutes there. |
Yeah I think it's almost a peanut butter cup. Read the ingredient list. |
| Jiff PB is pretty highly processed and has a lot of sugar and preservatives in it. Look at the ingredients on the back. There are peanut butters out there that just have peanuts and peanut oil in them. They don't taste as good but try adding a little cocoa powder and powder sugar to it. It's delicious and so much healthier than all the crap in JIFF. |
| I think JIF has an all-natural kind as well, so you could try that at home. |
| The new Fresh Market that just opened in Alexandria has an area where you can make your own peanut butter (and almond butter). It's a giant machine filled with peanuts and when you turn it on it creams/crushes the peanuts to order. So it's only peanuts, no sugar or preservatives. You can get as much or as little as you want. |

Whole Foods 365 Brand unsweetened organic pnb is delicious.
Ingredients: organic dry roasted peanuts, sea salt Not sure re: to-go size, but check Whole Foods. I think they sell Justin's organic pnb in to-go sizes. |
| PS - I CRAVED pnb all day long when I was pregnant. It's a good source of protein but the highly processed Jiff isn't great. |
| I'm confused. Why can't you just do PB and nuts at home and what is the big deal about it? Be grateful you do not have a kid with allergies. |
I think she's looking for something portable she can send to her kid's school. |
Yes this! (op here) |
| Um, why can't you just send it in a very small Tupperware container? |
Thanks, I will try it

This. Go on Amazon and look for bento-style sauce containers. |
