We tend to use sea salt or kosher salt which isn't iodized. My dad commented this weekend that the kids aren't getting iodine. From a quick Google search, it seems that we can get iodine from milk/vegetables. But, I'm thinking I might be wiling to switch it up and use both iodized and regular just to hedge my bets!

Interesting. Is this something they test for? In routine blood work? Or, are the women symptomatic. I remember learning that salt was iodized to prevent goiter! |

| Yes. You need iodized salt. Use it in moderation. |
| For some people it makes sense to use it. My mother's doctor recommended she use it sometimes to help with her thyroid. I can't remember the reason why, but some of her numbers were low - not low enough to warrant medication, but the doctor said iodized salt would help |
