I have a interview at a federal agency for a editor position (GS 13).
Is a nice black pantsuit with silk top OK to wear? My only black skirt is out of fashion, I think (not a slim fit but flared at bottom...Anne Taylor from a consignment shop). I work from home so totally clueless about workplace fashion. |
Yes
Seconding the "yes."
Yes.
I think skirt and pantsuits are the same level of formality.
Of course. Just ask Hillary
We are talking about a federal agency. Try not to wear yoga pants and you'll be fine.
Chuckle. +1 |
Hahaha, fed here. Wait till you get the job. Then wear the yoga pants.
Yes. I don't even own any skirt suits.
LMAO |
Pants are totally fine. And gets you out of the legwear conundrum (tights or hose? heels or boots? how high of a heel?). So long as the fit is good, a pantsuit is great.
Thank goodness times have changed. I remember when women on the hill were required to wear navy skirts and pantyhose (and even those crazy collar "dickies"). We do have Hillary to thank for this.
Pants suit is of course fine. It's 2014. If you have a navy or dark grey suit, however, I'd wear that instead of black. A black suit flatters very few skin tones and really should be reserved for funerals and memorialservices.
OP, NOT OKAY to wear this to the interview if you are a guy.
