What crazy person would in their right mind want to go to a highly ranked school with good sports and the top DECA program in the country?

MaKe iT mAkE sEnSe!!

All so your lax bro kid can party it up at an SEC school! So impressive!

So your answer is go to an "average" school?

Thats a great attitude to pass onto your kids. "Yes, Ashley, you should aspire to be AVERAGE. Don't worry about challenging yourself because math is hard."

Look I am just calling it like I see it based on outcomes in my neighbors’ kids. For every 1 UVA kid there are 10 at Alabama, Tennessee, Penn State, etc. These are the parents who LOVE Oakton and were/are very big on the sports. None of their kids are on scholarship or are even on the team at these schools BTW. A couple others are doing their sport at tiny D3 schools that found a spot. For their kid very late on the game. Sorry not impressed and not at all combien ed these lia would not have ended up in exactly the same spot coming from South Lakes, Westfield, or any other school at which they turn their noses up.

Fat fingers typing. Should have said “not at all convinced these kids…”

That's what I find crazy, this one person's daughter could continue to play club sports for the next two years and be a star at Skyview when she's a junior and senior, but instead she'll be average at Oakton all four years.

Parents are looking at the whole package and concluding Oakton will have a lot more to offer than Skyview for many years to come. Insulting them won’t change their minds.

PP makes no sense.

They are thrilled to send their kids to Carson.

Yep, it’s parents who want to keep their kids in a bubble but are too cheap to pay for private school. By saying they deserve to stay at Oakton, they are also saying that an inferior school such as Skyview is fine for other people’s kids, who are inherently less deserving.

Stop trying to draft other families for Skyview because you covet their demographics and then pitching a fit when that doesn’t align with their goals.

Lady, I just want my kids to be able to go to the school that is closer to our home by 20-30 minutes during rush hour.

Yes, just think of all those teens on the road tomorrow with possible extreme weather.

Way to prove the point that you have a superiority complex. My family is of a "coveted demographic" and I can't even imagine typing something like that. One day you will realize your child is completely average in this world and your money and connections won't help as much as you think.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic or not, but there may be tornadoes mid-day and the drive between Oak Hill and Carson is highly wooded. Trees can and will fall down on those roads. I know kids can take the highway, too, but that's unsafe in a different way.

Sorry that should have said the drive between Oak Hill and OAKTON.
