1. SJC until anyone from the DC area can beat them. It will be interesting to see how they handle the pressure of being the "hunted" as everyone is now aiming to de-thrown the Cadets.
2. Prep until anyone from the IAC proves otherwise. Can the DC Dawgs live up to the hype and play team high school ball.
3. Landon looks to be very athletic at all positions in the field. Scoring could be an issue with Hertzburg now at Michigan.
4. Bullis brings back the best offensive player in the region (Tucker Wade) and best LSM in the area (Charlie Muller).
5. Saint Stephens has a very senior-laden team this Spring, they will be battle-tested and will have a chip on their shoulder.

HM:
Gonzaga - I wasn't impressed with Gonzaga two weeks ago at the Mad Lax event at Landon. Maybe they were missing some kids but these are not the same Gonzaga teams we are used to watching the past 5 years.

1. SJC by a mile
The next three are pretty closely bunched together:
2. Landon - lost way less to graduation than Prep or Bullis. Lots of talk about post Hertzberg, but they have other weapons that now have room to grow. Loss of faceoff capabilities to graduation will hurt more.
3. Prep - just lost too much to graduation at every key position. 23’s will be a force when they are seniors, but the 22 class at Prep is pretty weak overall.
4. Bullis - shut down one scorer and they will struggle to put up points. Losing top goalie and defenders won’t help. Likely weakest of big 3 in IAC.
Another sizable gap before getting to:
5. St Stephens - will pull off an upset here or there but just not enough talent on this team to consistently compete. Also play super soft, and that is by already soft IAC standards.
6. Gonzaga - there are really strong players on this team and perhaps a new coach inspires a bounce back from a year where everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong.
7. PVI - sneaky. Will compete with some teams that don’t see them coming and may even pull an upset or two. Just not enough talent to contend with the big boys for a title.

Bullis does not have the best LSM in the area. Prep does by far with their Duke commit. He is superhuman.

Gonzaga LSM also very talented. Lots of strength at that position in DMV.

I think some Yorktown dad had his kid transfer to Gonzaga cause they seem to be the joke over hype machine this year.

Coaches rarely scout HS these days. Maybe a college coach calls a HS coach in a specific area and asks if there are any players nobody is looking at that maybe they should give a look too. Then they might send an assistant to see a game.

If it’s all about the club, then why go to private at all?

Because some parents and kids actually care about academics!

Gonzaga apparently was missing their army defender 2023 and their Georgetown mid 2023 at the madlax event. So wouldn’t look to much into that, plus they only lost to a very good haverford team by 1. Also I wouldn’t put them up with sjc prep and bullis, they are definitely better then sssas and pvi.

What is this based on? Lost to PVI in the spring tied in the fall (both missing players) PVI was 3-0 at the ML event and missing players. Not sure “better” is the correct assessment.

SJC two top middies of the 2022 class are gone. Will this make a difference?

Something doesn’t seem right over there. What is the culture of this team? A bunch of hired guns from outside the area that are not really part of the local community?
