Joint Letter from Taylor and Rivera-Oven:
Pretty much a nothingburger that regurgitated platitudes and gave no new information. |
| Wootton should be closed today. Utter $hit show today. There are no instructions today. Teachers and staff are angry that Taylor did not closed the school. |
I think we all agree we need gun reform but we have a very young Supreme Court that disagrees with us. SROs are really cops certified through state. |
Agreed. As they should be. Kept them long last night. Traumatized. And expected to return in the morning to support students while not having the opportunity to be home and process their own trauma. |
Oh come on. Nobody died and the wrongdoer was caught. |
They didn't even say the word "shooting" in that letter so anyone not connected to some other source would have no idea what happened. |
Absolutely absurd. School did not need to be closed. That is ridiculous Grow the hell up. What exactly can be done today nothing. This kid targeted one kid that's it. They were never a threat to the whole community. Either gun reform happens or nothing else works so move the hell along. I'm tired of whiney parents who vote in Republicans |
You have got to be kidding. There is no one in the entire county that does not know it was a shooting. Grow the hell up and FOCUS |
SRO's are worthless where in this country has an SRO saved a kid where? |
No. It needed to be open. Students needed the opportunity to retrieve belongings, access counseling, and have a hot meal if wanted. Not everyone needs the same thing. |
Really? I think free speech and due process are more important than D.C. electors (23rd Amendment) or delaying Congressional pay raises (27th Amendment). |
|
No worries Trump will take your guns in 2028.
That is what Dictators do. Anyone on this thread spewing their second amendment rights might want to listen when he spews. Gun issues are Republican all day every day. Thoughts and prayers. This young man that committed this crime will serve his time. The man that shot an unarmed protester nah.... The disconnect on this thread is absurd. |
Yes, but from what I've heard from friends who have kids at Wootton, it was at least an hour (some have said about 2) before they got any kind of information other than that there was at least 1 shooter in the school and at least one person had been shot. That's a lot of time to sit there being very scared. Rumors were of course flying - there were 2 shooters, one escaped, at least one student was dead, etc. I think the trauma that you are so dismissive of is not the aftermath knowledge of what actually happened but the period of uncertainty and fear that would have, understandably, deeply impacted people. |
I was originally going to limit it to the Bill of Rights but then realized we have so many equally important later in the Constitution. I spoke with slight hyperbole but the point still stands. The 2nd Amendment is just as important as the 1st and cannot and should not be limited. |
