Can someone give me the number to call to report boundary fraud?

Actually, I have done some of those things. The problem is we had Mary Cheh and Jack Evans for a long time who were all about pandering to the private school crowd with give-aways of facilities.

Then we've got Bowser and her predecessors who win votes, or at least believe they do, by making WTOP seats available to as many EOTP students as possible, ignoring that it's distorting and bad for the system overall.

I will leave it to the AG to determine whether prosecution is warranted. But if someone is committing fraud, then there is certainly nothing wrong with reporting them in the hope that doing so will prevent them from being able to continue benefiting from their fraud (i.e.. that dis-enrollment from the relevant school will be required).

I think you have to call the FBI or DHS. They are handling this stuff now.

Cool. So if I can put together some paperwork and a fake ID that allows me to impersonate you at your bank, I can withdraw all the money in your accounts? I went to a lot of trouble to put my fraudulent materials together because I'm highly motivated to take your money. I want it.

Sounds like you need a new city.

You have too much time on your hands. It's a no-brainer that OSSE and DCPS aren't equipped to thoroughly investigate every boundary fraud complaint brought to them, or even every residency fraud complaint. If you want DC agencies to work like the FBI, interviewing neighbors, putting families under surveillance, conducting extensive documents searches and tax records etc. you're going to have to pay higher DC taxes to finance the new regime. You're also going to have to lobby, organize and push, possibly for decades, for necessary changes to DC law. There are always going to be gray areas where school registration goes, e.g. a family that registers in-boundary over the summer from one address, then moves to another at some point during the school year, perhaps staying on for years in the school.

I'm not convinced that DCPS is nearly as accommodating of boundary cheaters as y'all think. I say this as a lady who was investigated for address cheating pre-when divorcing. I was given 48 hours to produce several years of certified tax returns to an in-boundary address, along with other documentation, to keep my kids in a DCPS ES. I was able to produce the relevant docs quickly and easily and was cleared on the spot at the DCPS residency fraud office. But that was a little pre-Bowser. Maybe it's easier to cheat now, no idea.

Not remotely the same thing.

If these aren’t your feathers, you have a choice to make. Find a similar flock or learn to live with people who think and want different from you.

Bizarre. You think that the only people who should live in DC are those who accept politicians being bought by the wealthy and buying off the disadvantaged?

Thanks, but I'll continue to live here and continue to advocate for policies that don't treat the MC and UMC like nonentities.
