But the OP didn't contain only opinions. It started with certain allegations of fact:
"Another month, another senior administrator leaves Holton – this time it’s the Director of Communications. This is the fourth Director of Communications in Penny’s short, two-year tenure." It shouldn't be hard to determine whether these contentions are true or false. |
OP attributes all departures to a single person. Unless you ask people that leave and get confirmation from them about the reasons for their departure you cannot seriously claim that is a factual statement. I am sorry to disappoint you. |
But I'm not talking about the rest of what OP said (i.e., assigning blame). Are the allegations in the first two sentences of the OP true, regardless whether or not they are attributable to the HOS? |
Yes it's true |
Maybe yes maybe not. But the underlying premise of all the posts is that a single person is causing all the reported “facts”. All of that seems to be pretty much a speculation since not everyone agrees with that assessment. Your perception is as valid as mine. What makes the difference is if that perception is matched by reality. So far that’s not the case. |
It is a fact that this is the 4th Director of Communication since the HoS started. It's also true that a large number of administrators have left.
And yes, every one of the departures is the result of the abusive and narcissistic leadership style. It is no wonder many of her direct reports fled. |
Also it’s true that is that mostly your optinion, and the fact that you are frustrated doesn’t mean that everyone feels the same way. |
No. That's not opinion. That's fact. |
So.. some upper management has left since the new HoS. Isn't that basically normal when there's a change at the top? At my company (which I realize is not a school), that's pretty common whenever we get a new CEO. |
It's not common for 70+ to leave within two years. Many of those departures were sad and forced due to the change in climate at the school. You can continue to justify and defend the actions of the leadership. I don't really understand why you're so invested in doing so. It's weird to so adamantly deny what's clear about faculty morale. The proof may not be here, but it's out there. |
It’s funny you’ve seized on this of all allegations to contest when it is, demonstrably and quite visibly, true |
Not really, it’s a fact just for you. Not for me. In any case I don’t mind you having your own facts. It’s an anonymous forum that very few people read. |
