Sen. Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) will retire after a single term in the Senate, she said Friday, marking a significant departure of a crypto ally from Congress.

“Deciding not to run for reelection does represent a change of heart for me, but in the difficult, exhausting session weeks this fall I’ve come to accept that I do not have six more years in me,” Lummis said in a statement. “I am a devout legislator, but I feel like a sprinter in a marathon. The energy required doesn’t match up.”

Yeah, but it is Wyoming. That seat is safe for Republicans.

As for Lummis, Wyoming's only House rep, Harriet Hagerman (aka The Church Lady), has already said she's going to run. But that's better for Wyoming, because otherwise she was going to run for governor.

Low but not zero. The OH Gov race is attracting a lot of attention from far right weirdos though. There is a lot of discourse on Twitter about how Ramaswamy isn’t a “real American” and how he needs to go back to India and stuff. And also the expected attacks on Acton calling her the “Covid Jew.”
