I bet she has a smart business team as her brand has been very successful but Taylor herself - probably average intelligence. She does not come across as anything more.

You could have been great too! Right? So why aren't you more successful? Must be your below average intelligence holding you back if you can't do better.

And I’m sure she’s happier for it.

Adele’s Hello breakup album hits home for me more than Taylor’s, JMO.

Sure. I love Adele. Those two are just so different. I enjoy them both.

The difference between Adele and Taylor’s music is that Adele’s music has matured alongside her. Taylor and her music seem developmentally stuck at age 21 or so.

Is that a diss? Whatever she is putting out there breaks records every time. There's space in the industry for everyone. Who cares what another artist does.

Adele had a massive meltdown at the start of her Vegas residency. Taylor seems to be running circles around Adele in every way.

I don’t care if it’s petty. If that what was inspiring, so what?

I don't think it was petty to her. It was a pretty traumatizing time in her life.

Yes but why bring it up after 8 years?

What is the limit? Plenty of people write about their daddy issues, should they just get over that too? Since you make the rules and all what is the statute of limitations on getting over stress or trauma? Not that I really care what you think but it's amusing to humor you since your opinion carries no weight.

Bringing up Kim's kids is weird. She needs help to get over it. None of our opinions carry weight. That doesn't mean we can't share it just because you're hard-core stan.

I'm not hard core anything just laughing you thinking she "needs" to do anything you tell her to do.

Anonymous wrote:^ And to add, this isn't only in the world of music. The most successful actors / movies aren't necessarily the most talented actors out there either. Nor are the most successful people the best and most talented either.

Taylor, Kardashians, Jerry Seinfeld, Elon Musk, Drake. Lots of ways to have great career success without being all that talented.

Jerry Seinfeld wrote one of the most successful sitcoms of all time. It was innovative and unique. Yes, he is talented, as is Taylor.

Seinfeld wasn’t popular until it was squeezed between Friends and ER. It was first on Tuesday night, then Wednesday and finally Thursday. I see Friends is on all day on TBS, The Big Bang at night and Friends on Nik at night. I barely see Seinfeld anywhere. Seinfeld is a clear example of being at the right place, the right time for success. It really isn’t that funny.

NP. I will vehemently disagree with you on this. Seinfeld took a while to find its rhythm, but became a smash hit that ended before the fans wanted it to. Seinfeld episodes are on every single day somewhere in syndication. It did benefit from right place/right time, but that doesn't explain it's high popularity then and since.

Now back to Taylor.

Yes, her product is a breakup album geared towards young adult dynamic relationships. Totally respectable if you’re writing fictional or generic content, but gets progressively weirder that she keeps releasing breakup albums every year skewing personal ex boyfriends, in her mid thirties. As another poster put it, Taylor seems manic when it comes to relationships. I don’t know if it’s a diss as much as an observation- I thought her songs like we were never getting back together and all too well were heartfelt and well written songs. I just think it’s weird that she’s in her mid thirties still making the same mistakes in relationships and putting out the same thing every few months. Her albums are mostly highly anticipated because shes willing to publicly slander her high profile exes. The whole thing seems kind of gross.

Well, I'm not. But my daughter is into her. Just curious what other people are saying about the album I've been forced to listen to. And then I see these weak comment from blowhards who have never had a good idea in their life suggesting how a billionaire could do better.

Her business / marketing team has done a great job of selling her brand. Her fans will buy anything - they don't even assess quality. If its connected to Taylor, they love it. Kylie Jenner's lipstick also broke records and made her rich. Do I think that is because of her incredible talent in creating make-up and her genius intelligence - no. To me, they are similar. Both have great teams around them who created a brand that sells and a fan base who will buy anything related to the brand.

No im a wine mom and I find it hilarious. I also think look at Taylor FINALLY having her adolescent angst come through trying to gain independence from her traps. You only find it insulting if you are a wine mom with no sense of humor.

Her adolescent angst has been coming through since she was 16. But now she is 34. Maybe time to move on from adolescent angst.

She knows that her fame has stunted her: she says in multiple of her songs she has never grown up.

“Sometimes growing up precocious means you never grow up at all”
“I never grew up, it’s getting so old”

In Miss Americana she says that people say fame means you freeze at the age you got famous and she thinks that might be true for her. She’s aware that she’s somewhat trapped in a path of irregular development; a lot of her more introspective songs are about how the cage of fame did that to her.

I don't think its just fame that has stunted her- I am convinced that she is neuro diverse- whether ADHD or something else. Her level of output/hyperfocus is super interesting and she's found a way to use it to her advantage. But also (and saying this as someone who really likes her), she seems a little emotionally immature and falls hard and fast (seems manic at times) while also having a super brilliant mind- a common sign of neuro diversity. I am not saying any of this in a negative way at all, her mind is something to be studied!

No, that is a different musician. He's a rapper. Probably also average intelligence.

Howling.
