MCEA and Jennifer Martin act like a bunch of lunatics at Council yesterday

Is this bs so commonplace and normalized now that there is no outrage anymore about crime that teachers have to deal with and it ruining lives of the only people trying to follow the rules.

See a college education in the US is outrageously expensive and a high school education in public schools is incredibly poor. Further, the admin and union subtly get teachers to pay for their own supplies or you have kids without materials. Meanwhile, the powers that be blame teachers for a dysfunctional system that does not properly support teachers and they are blamed so the admin look good. Then teachers are abused and fired like the scapegoats so they can sell college to underreported illiterate kids. This is a viscious cycle that has no end until teachers stand up and tell the truth of what's going on.

Yes , when you protest you chant you message over and over. Good observation for these important issues that plague our schools.

Please pp, stop with these semi-literate rantings that make MCPS teachers, not administrators or central office, look bad. They are not having the effect that you think they're having. - A teacher

All we ask is to stop gaslighting about changing the numbers and passing students along when they fail. We can't get cussed at all day and asked not to hurt the children's feelings by inflating the figures so they all pass. It's not educating anyone except for education g teachers that they made a bad choice in careers.

The only effect we care about is respect and integrity of the profession and education industry. What effect are you interested in bc I for one am tired of seeing the bs and apathy on tv.

Don't insult teacher to protect the source of the problems.

Check out minutes 22 in. They talk about how now education is about parents and admin just caring about passi g the students along no matter how bad the students are along and that the goal seems currently to make the teachers the enemy. It's troubling but sadly it's the status quo.

The goal is to support teachers and raise awareness of what goes on in schools. It is not to stroke the egos of corrupt status quo officials that got us into these crises in the first place. We're tired of taking blame for carrying out the lackluster initiatives that were created from the top down. Most of the time we know they are crap before we even get started spewing the bs.

If you want to discuss the content I would be obliged but if you are only looking to bully teachers you can go suck a rock.

Sounds like they're doing their job by raising awareness and standing up for teachers.

A student of a VERY outspoken reopening mom recently told our team, "My mom made it clear she didn't want me home during the pandemic, so I don't feel safe or comfortable at home." Her ENTIRE argument was "all teachers are doing is showing kids education isnt important." The message she thought she was sending failed miserably to the one person it matters most to. These are the same people blaming teachers for everything going wrong right now. This starts at home. Stop calling teachers lunatics. Look in the mirror first. Do your job as parents. Think about your messaging. There will soon be no one left. Parents are the reason most teachers are leaving. Not money. Admin comes in a close second, but generally, the sentiment across the entire country is, parents.

Oh that poor kid. I always felt for Dawn's kids. I don't know if that is the person you are talking about, but she would bring those poor boys on TV and rant and rave like a lunatic. They did NOT want to be sitting next to her at all. For someone in mental health services, she sure stinks at making sure her kids are emotionally safe.
