Speak one language.
Have a significant number of tattoos. Say the f word way too much. Poop with the door open sometimes. Drink coors lite. Sleep with my dogs. I have never strived to fit in with a certain "class" - I enjoy being who I am. Although our HHI is in the seven figures, my dh and I both have jobs that are not considered high class and allow us to still get our hands dirty. |
You’re the second poster who’s mentioned this. I’m a nail biter too, but I’ve never thought of it as trashy. Just anxiety. |
No one has explained how drinking a soda out of its container is somehow a sign of low class. |

I love candy crush
I wear workout clothes all the time. My yard has looked like hell for two years (and I don’t care) (but this is because we have been working for two years on drainage issues, we are somebody going to have nice landscaping but for now I’m sure we look trashy). I believe pets are very far away from human beings. I think they should be treated well but their needs should come far, far after the needs of humans. I would never pay 5K to save a cat, for instance. I think this stems from being raised around farmers in fly-over country. |

I ate a combo at Taco Bell and ordered a Mountain Dew with my meal.
And I enjoyed it! |
It is! Use a glass. |
I think it's fine to drink from a can if you're sitting on the sofa. If you drink a soda at the table, however (cue discussion of how only water and wine should be consumed with a meal), it should be decanted into a glass. I don't judge people who don't do this as trashy, though, it's just my little thing about making my table look nice. I also don't like condiment bottles on the table. I freely admit this is persnickety and will accept all judgement on it. |
I think this nicely illustrates the difference between what is trashy and what is classy: somebody’s arbitrary, completely unsupported and unsupportable opinion. |
It is also correct. |
You still haven't given any reason why drinking a soda out of its can is an indicator of low class. Soda cans are typically (and maybe even the majority of time) taken on the go, which is a circumstance where pouring the soda into a glass makes no sense. I'm sitting at my desk in my office, with a can of soda I picked up from the office fridge. What point would there have been to me searching for a glass to pour the soda into? Your opinion on this is based on nothing, frankly. |
Understandably the homeowners don't want the detergents/chemicals/oils/chlorine from the swimsuit fabric in their hot tub - it has nothing to do with being 'rapey' is that even a word? We have a similar rule for hot tub use in our home. It has nothing to do with sex, its about cleanliness. Have you ever maintained a hot tub? Unless cared for properly and the water treated, a hot tub is the breeding ground for a multitude of bacteria and organisms. Those bubbles you see floating on the surface of a hot tub are body oils, lotions, and other chemicals/detergents that are carried into the bubbling hot water. A showered "naked" person is cleaner than a person wearing a swimsuit. We have a shower near the hot tub for people to use. Guests in our home understand our hot tub use policy, and if they feel differently, they are under no obligation to get in the hot tub. They are welcome to enjoy the pool and sauna wearing their swimsuits. We have no children living in our home, and 99.9% of our guests are child free as well. This is about adults being adults. |
My wife and I choose not to wear clothes when in our home, on our yacht or traveling in our motorhome and invite others to join us at their comfort level. We practice good hygiene, and always have a towel between bare skin and furniture. We do it as we find it healthy, relaxing and socially acceptable. Flame away!! |
Really? So you sit in your hot tub naked with your naked friends? This is fascinating to me. |
You have a yacht and a trailer? That's interesting. |
OP here - yes that would be a 50ft sailboat to be specific and motorhome, not trailer. We tow our vehicle behind our motorhome, unlike people that tow their trailers behind their pickup trucks. |
