Does anyone know if MOM (my organic market) in Alexandria is still open?

Every time I drive by it looks like it went out of business with papered up windows. But, it is still there with the MOM sign?
Anonymous
Yes, just went there today. Still open. Entrance is in back.

They covered the windows (they're shades, not paper) because too much sun was hitting the cold cases at that end if the store).

Yes, still open! That's my favorite grocery store!

NOt to digress, but why? Just wondering if it is worth my while to go to the one in Mosaic District. Is it your typical Whole Foods TJ fare? Any good bargains like Aldi?

Yep, we're still open! Come on by.

WAY better than Whole Foods.
All of the produce is organic, local whenever possible. Prices are better than Whole Foods, and it's just a super-friendly place. I love it!

I disagree--think the prices are higher. But I do go every once in a while.

Why not just call them?

Prices are not better than WF but it's calm and nice and great healthy food selection.

I shop at WF and MOM both weekly (due to restricted/allergic diet). Prices at MOMS are higher on some items, much better than WF on others.

Their store brand milk is grass-fed organic.

And delicious, too.

I much prefer the MOMS at Mosaic to the Tysons WF. I loathe the Tysons WF. MOMs is so friendly and calm. I spend less money there because some things are much cheaper but mainly because I'm not sucked in by all the overpriced luxury foods they have at WF. I buy what I need, often from the bulk section in exactly the quantity I need. I love it there!

PP, I frequently shop at the Mosaic store. The prices are not cheap but the produce quality (especially their berries in the summer) were amazing. They also have great local meats and their milk is the best. It's the low temp pasteurized grassfed type. It tastes amazing and is cheaper than WF.

It is not a substitute for Aldi or even WF because it is smaller so they don't have lots of brand variety. They are however very friendly and it's just a pleasant experience going there.
