Hoboken was one of the worst hit by Sandy, sustaining more than $100 million in damage. Mayor Zimmer sought more that $100 million in Sandy relief aid, and according to Kornacki, just $342,000 went to the town, less than 1 percent of what they requested.

This sounds pretty bad.

Finished as governor or as a presidential candidate? Or both?

Definitely as a presidential candidate and possibly as governor, depending on how this plays out in the coming weeks.

. That should be easy to confirm. If it is true that Hoboken received so little of the federal relief money, I can't imagine they will not be able to link the problem to the Governor. This is getting to be a Chicago style scandal.

Here comes the Christie response: the mayor of Hoboken makes an accusation on MSNBC, and their response is that MSNBC is partisan.

Right, it's not that you used relief funds as a political tool. It's the liberal meeeeedeeeeeeaa.

Not defending Christie. The jury is still out. He kind of lost me with his BMOC response to a question about his high school classmate. However, it is a fact that grant money usually has to be designated for a project.

It's kind of a shame. I thought he was the one Republican reasonable enough to deal with. Now he's one track suit short of Tony Soprano.

Sad if you think this only goes one way.

Politics is like a sausage factory. You really don't want to know what goes on behind the scenes.

Not defending Christie but Hoboken got $70mil in federal aid and is set to get another round from the Feds. Pretty standard that states don't kick in until they know what Feds are giving.

Sad that you think it is acceptable either way. If anyone, Republican or Democrat, bullies cities and towns in this way, you can be sure I won't vote for them. How about you?

You don't think Race to the Top is a bully program?

Christie did what every politician does. Payback his friends. Obama has done this for 5 years.

Nope. There is nothing wrong with awarding grants based on the quality of proposals. Florida sure isn't complaining.

I don't know what this cartoon says about Christie's future, but I think it's pretty funny: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/01/16/1269727/-Comic-President-Chris-Christie-Day-nbsp-100?detail=email#. It's on a liberal site, but I don't think you have to be liberal to giggle your way through it.
